A little obsessive?! I like the Withings because I can look at my wrist and see the time and that second little clock hand is where I am at to reaching my goal, but in order to know how many steps I've actually taken or calories I burned I have to use the phone app. The feature I also really like is I don't have to charge this one. With the polar loop I can press a button and see how many steps I've taken how many calories I burn, The time and how close I am to my goal, The phone app gives me extra information just like the Withings. I also have a heart rate monitor that's paired with the polar loop that can give me a more accurate calories burned for a workout that the winnings can't. The polar loop I have to charge about every three days. It only takes about 20 minutes but that's 20 minutes off my wrist hooked up to the computer or hooked up to a USB port, charging. I need to do some research because the polar loop at the end of the day has me anywhere from 1500 to 2000 steps more then the Withings does, so right now I don't know which one is more accurate and that bothers me! -

Seems soft foods are less restricting and allowing more consumption. I have been trying to avoid soft foods to keep my calories down and also because I seem to be satisfied longer when I eat meat vs. soft foods like refried beans. One thing I like to snack on is homemade cole slaw, it's low in calories, gives me a crunchy consistency that I crave and I'm filled up with a 1-2 ounce portion. I hope I have the same results in month two as you have. Did you stall during month one? I'm a band to sleeve revision and on another discussion board for us revision patients it seems to be very common for a longer stall than people who haven't had the band too. -

Wow! Just had my first awful experience. I Had blackened fish taco with cabbage and pico de gallo and no corn tortilla for dinner. I took one too many bites and had the worst restriction pain, for about 10 minutes, and then vomited. The only good thing about the latter is I feel better now. In retrospect I think I ate too fast and didn't chew the cabbage very good. -

Amboyd, I too was a band to sleeve revision on 10/5. I stalled for nearly three weeks even though I was walking nearly every day for about 30 min and calorie intake no more than 800 a day. I was very frustrated to say the least! (I even noticed a two pound gain during that stall) I have my next four week check up is tomorrow and I'm not getting on my scale until I have been weighed by the surgeons office scale. My husband had not seen me since surgery until this past friday and he could tell I had lost weight, and I for the first time could see it too. So hang in there, I think because we are revisions our starting weight loss is slower. -

Turks and Caicos! I'm jealous I will get there someday. Your doing so good you should have no problem meeting that goal!, I'm Disney World bound in 16 days, I was hoping for a 30 pound total loss by then (Surgery 10/5)... we will see. -

I love the encouragement and feed back from my new found family on this board and I'd like to get to know y'all a little better. Your occupation, your family, where your from, your successes etc. I'll start... I have been married 21 years today to my absolute sole mate Adam. We have 4 children age 27, 19, 17, and 8 (we adopted the last one, lol). I am currently an elementary school nurse (been nursing for the past 25 years) but the last 20 years of it really desired to be a school teacher. So six years ago I went back to school for my teaching degree, and happily I will graduate this December, and will be switching careers. I have live in Longview, TX for the past 17 years (a transplant from New Jersey), and am in the process of selling my home to move to the Galveston Bay area of Texas, where my husband and 17 year old moved to this past August for his new job. One last thing, I took a walking class last semester and was provided with a walking data sheet (It's an excel document). Anyway, it asks for some data like your height, weight, age and calculates your bmi. It then ask you to put in you average steps per day for two days and then gives you a starting point to increase every week. At the end of 23 days you put in you new weight and it gives you a new BMI. I'm using it to encourage me to walk a little more every day. If anyone would like a copy, you can email at cholland@lisd.org -

Six miles! That's great! Did you do it all in one session? I am only up to between 2 and 2.5 miles at a time and no were near jogging yet, I've only been walking the past two weeks. With time I hope to improve my distance and time. -

Feeling frustrated! I have been at a stall for the past two weeks. last week I started logging my food and find I am eating on average 800 calories a day and I walk at a brisk pace a for minimum of 30 min a day. I'm trying to not get depressed over this and am using other people's experiences as encouragement that this will pass. Another thread has a discussion about this happening to them too and lasting as long as a month. I'm gonna do a few days of only protein drinks and see if that gets me out of this stall. -

Hello! I was sleeved on the 5th (a lap-band revision) and have been reading all your post from my phone over the last few weeks but was not able to join in the conversation (I'm not too tech savvy). I'm on soft foods now and find that I am hungry every two hours or so. When I talked with my doctor he wasn't concerned and assured me that this is not "grazing". (I'm Keeping my carbs low and protien high). Are y'all counting calories? I am eating about 1000 a day and I thought I should be consuming less. I just have a real fear that just like the lap band the sleeve is not going to work for me. Catherine -
What is everyones favorite Protein Drink?
catlynk replied to JellyBellyNoMore's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 6 days post op and i've been having trouble getting my Protein in. I'm not crazy about the Protein shakes. So today I put a half scoop of 'Way protein isolate' (Jay Robb) unflavored and a packet of sugar-free 'Alpine spiced Apple Cider' in a Blender Bottle and added 8 ounces of hot Water. It is surprisingly good, it looks like tea with a little bit of milk added, but has no Gritty or bad aftertaste. My 8 ounces equals 13 g of protein
