Tips and advice for our newbies
heather5565 replied to heather5565's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
@@Christinamo7 I am half Dutch half Canadian lol My dad and his family came to Canada when he was in his 20's and he married my mom that is from British Columbia Canada. I can't speak a lick of Dutch tho, unfortunately. It is true - Oma is actually the correct way to say Grandma in Dutch.... but my "Oma" wouldn't even acknowledge you if you called her Oma. It HAD TO BE OMI. Dutch people, eh Pffft ?!?!?! Hahahaha Now I am seriously considering on writing a book.... I used to journal like I was writing a book. Maybe I should try it for real! -

Ooooooo do it!!! And when you go on tour to promote your book I will be your assistant and fetch you Protein shakes. We could hit all the major cities and meet up with all the amazing people on this website. Hey and I wonder if you could get a big advance and use it to buy us clothes to wear on tour? And pretty shoes and purses. Makeup and accessories. Squeeeeee!!! Pushy little thing, aren't I? ;) It's so much fun to dream... Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Omg this is so awesome!I think we'd get along great and our tour would be a huge success! -

@@jaxmom I totally laughed out loud to your Ooooooooo cake comment That was funny! I've always wanted to write a book! Lol Actually I've been encouraged to since I wrote poems in high school (which was a bazillion years ago) My Omi (Dutch for grandma) always said I wrote my letters to her like I was there talking. I like writing but for some reason I went into nursing and Health Record Management. Weird. HA! but thank you for the comments and compliments! !! Happy to help! -

Bamsucka !!!!!!!! You just delivered the goods right here, woman !!!! Way to bring it........and way to live it. The only possible thing I'll add to your list: *Don't embrace stalls.........stay disciplined and bust through those bishes !!!!! You are absolutely awesome......killer outlook and winning in life. Tremendous respect. Thank you my good friend ???? And I agree about the stalls. Take them as they are. Your body is saying it needs a break from this whirlwind. It will adjust. But while it is - change it up. Eat something different. Eat more. eat less. Change up the exercise. Try giving your body a mini break from exercise. (Maybe it's being pushed too hard too many days in a row - idk) -

Seriously all, having your words of encouragement helps me tremendously I will finish this. I will finish hard to. And hopefully will finish with nice arms, shoulders and chest -
Thank you so much! wish we could go shopping together! one month later and I am now having to remove a lot of the skinny clothes and buy some new ones. TJ maxx tomorrow and Good will on Sunday (99c day) because things are too baggy for me to stand it. I *have* to tuck my shirts in to keep my pants up. I would not have believed you three months ago had you told me. Ok so if we are planning this... where do you live? I can cross the US border near Vancouver BC But if your like in Texas or Australia.. that might be a little more difficult. Lol

A couple for me this past week: A total stranger asked me if I go to Goodlife fitness. - I said yes She said "well yeah, whatever you are doing, keep doing it because people are noticing and talking about you whenever you walk by because it is so noticeable how much you've lost!" She also said she can tell that when I'm there I WORKOUT MY ASS OFF and don't just go fluff fluff around. Lol Yep, I walk out of there like I just stepped out of the shower. Another is - this week I've vamped up my hiking bit - I've been putting weighted plates in my pack and walking up huge steep hills. I'm always first to the top. I need way less breaks than my friend. And I power walk thru the easier parts where my friend is begging me to slow down hahaha I can't help it, it's like this burst of power energy to get me going so I go!

I teared up Christina... I teared up reading this! So proud of you! I'm at my lowest size in my closet too. If I (oh and I will!) Lose anymore weight I will have to go for a full on full clothes shopping spree for a an entirely new wardrobe. Not sure if my husband can fully grasp that idea yet. .. but it gonna happen! Lol

That's just so priceless I almost can't even handle it! I think it's going to be the exact same situation this weekend when my dad comes to visit me. He will be like "where's Heather?"
