    Protein water

I drink them. I like the berry and the lemon. I thought I'd love the grape because I like grape everything but nope, didn't like that one. It's 600ml and 15 gm of protein. It def helps in both the protein and fluid department! They cost anywhere between 2.40 and 3.00 here in British Columbia. If you go to GNC they sometimes have a special where if you buy 4 you get 5th one free, so that saves some.

Hello im new but i have hope

Welcome!!! This site is so very helpful (and addicting!) I have found so much inspiration and support that has given me that extra little boost to stay positive, get excited, stay focused and push myself to continue on with this journey! You will do this! I will do this! Let's do this!!!! ????
  6. I have a rare disorder called DRESS syndrome. sadly I am going thru a severe bout of it right now. A medication given to me during surgery might've set it off. :'( What is DRESS? It stands for Drug Reaction Eosinophilia and Systemic symptoms syndrome. it came become severe... to fatal. It's like an allergy to a medication that just keeps setting it self off in my body with out the medication even being there anymore. Although this reaction may be to a new one given to me during surgery. I don't know how to find that out though because I am obviously not going to test that theory out. This disorder is rare and the mortality rate is 10% (180 cases ever reported - 10% of that is 18 people!!!) - Google it if interested... so I find out today if I have to be either admitted to hospital for high doses of IV Methylprednisolone or have it as an outpatient. I am so sad because every time I go on these steroids I gain weight. I guess I am going to gain some of the weight I have lost in the last 4 weeks. wahhhhh I knew that having surgery was a risk of bringing on my DRESS but I was really really really hoping it wasn't going to happen. Plus steroids slows down the healing which I am still doing! I didn't want any set backs but I knew that was going to be too good to be true. I haven't weighed myself since Thursday Oct 15th and there is no way I'll weight myself during this because I am ballooned up and so swollen that I cannot close my fingers into my hands and my face is so swollen that you wouldn't be able to tell if my eyes are open or closed. My skin is on fire and so hot to touch yet I am shivering cold. I will start shedding my skin soon, gross I know. One of the reasons I had gastric bypass is because with this syndrome I was trying to get rid of possible comorbidities that go with obesity because I cannot take the medications... and here I am going thru it again and possibly from medications given to me for surgery. Ironic, I think. I don't regret getting the surgery tho, not one bit! Just have to get over this hurdle now. Wish me good health and pray for me please! Heather Oh! also, any other DRESS peeps out there??
  7. Thank you! Things are sorta looking up, yep! Weighed myself this am (was very scared stepping on that scale!!!) And down 4.4lb since last weigh in so I'm super stoked for the loss! Was either expecting a gain or at very least seeing the same # I saw last weigh in. Now to continue downwards! 2 more treatments left and hopefully a full recovery by mid-late this week!!!!

    Removal of thigh skin

I thought that with a "full" tummy tuck that they do actually pull up thigh skin...? I thought that that is actually part of the tuck. I'm also waiting to see if someone will respond that has had thigh tuck done. I know that when I lost a lot of weight many years ago that I still had really loose inner thigh skin and it was also loose around the inside of my knees. Could never wear short shorts, always wore board shorts. Oh well I guess I'll be expecting that again but I except that!

    Pain Post Revision

I am post up RNY and I had dilaudid for post op day 1 &2, then he filled a prescription for oxycodone for 5 days. Used all pills. Then had to go to the walk-in medical clinic and had to get a prescription for Tramadol which is still a pain killer with Tylenol in it but not as strong. Those were for a few more days. Then after that I was pain free and only needed a Tylenol once in a while and now never. Everyone has different pain thresholds. So if you need some more go get it! Don't go with pain when you really don't have to! Take care and know it gets better in a matter of days
  12. Best response!!! You got me all pumped up and excited too!! ????????????
  13. Thank you all! I'm a little better now. I've had 2 of 4 high doses of IV steroids. (Which sucks because side effects are weight gain and slow healing! - but because it's only 4 doses it might not effect me) I'm not swollen anymore so that's a good sign. I hope to weigh myself soon and see if I've lost more weight! Or I'd even be happy to not have gained any. We shall see! And then onwards to good health and goal!!!!

    What happens

Is the bariatrition also known as a bariatric nutritionist? Or is this your bariatric surgeon? Sorry, just never heard those terms used
  19. I say WOW too! you've been thru so many unnecessary hurdles and complications! When I had my band, I NEVER had more than 1 cc - that was even too much... so I cannot imagine having as many cc's as you did! I can't believe that d*ck doctor you had that told you to come back when you're serious... I would go back to him and tell him a piece of my mind and tell him what is happening to you now! I would also file a complaint against him. I hope all goes well and perfect and keep us in the loop! take care Heather

    Stomach pain ALL Day

I'd love to help but you haven't given much information... how long ago did you have surgery? And what surgery did you have? Have you ever had this pain before? Have you had a BM lately? are you passing flatus? Are you keeping food and water down? Are you feeling like you are bloating up? Does it feel like a UTI? Have you done any new exercise? Have you contacted your doctor?

  22. I use colace (stool softeners) they help and are non-addictive like senokot or lactulose.

    DO NOT DO IT

ShantelleElaine: I think you've made your point that the complications were solely from your lap band surgery... But be honest with yourself, if someone came to you and said your story to you - would you have still gone in to have surgery? You have to admit that you probably would. You even said that you were pro band and didn't ever think that any of this would happen to you. Nobody does. That's the risk. any complication from any surgery can happen and we all know that going in. Again I say so sorry for all that's happened to you
