ADULTS SAY THE MOST STUPIDEST THINGS!

"Just eat smaller portions and exercise, that's what I do when I want to lose a couple of pounds" (Said by my friend that is super athletic & fit and has never dealt with weight issues in her life) "Just take appetite suppressants or diet pills" (Said by my BFF that knows I have a rare disorder that makes me allergic to pretty much any medication)

    Halloween Challenge!

Oh yes A big THANK YOU to stephh!! Count me in for the next challenge.
  4. I think this is a bit harsh. You do know that not only are we not all English speakers here but, we are also at different levels of education and also is the fact that these days many of us multitask, and as such one task often suffers- usually for me grammar and punctuation during texting.I often text in a hurry and sometimes make mistakes. I am also multi-lingual and it takes a great deal of effort to get it right all the time. I did say "gentle advice" in hopes that she wouldn't be (too) offended. I was nice and just trying to explain that in order for us to help her, we'd have to first understand what she was asking or saying. You probably didn't see the original post, it was one humungous run-on sentence. It was very difficult to understand - that's why the first few posters were saying "huh?" and "I don't understand what you're saying." After she corrected her original post, she had a lot more responses, advice and tips etc because she was being understood. That's it. That's all. I totally get it that people are bilingual and that their 1st language isn't English..... I live in Canada.

How Have Your Tastes Changed Since Surgery?

I don't like food at all now. Nothing tastes good. Nothing smells good. I'm never hungry. I have to remind myself to eat and drink. I have heard this happens but never in a million years did I think this would happen to me! I do hope I will enjoy food again someday.

    How about some NSVs!?!?

I went out for dinner last night for the first time post surgery! Went to Earls and had a bento box but only had the salmon (without the sauce) - and only had about 2 ounces of it. I think I did ok! Oh and I tried on a pair of jeans that 6 weeks ago I couldn't even get up over my hips and I completely bypassed the "almost fit" stage!!! They went from being way too tight to wear, to TOO BIG!!! YAY!! (Wore them anyways just because I could ) That totally pumped me up for the evening! This is really happening!!!!!! Can't wait for more NSV'S! !!!!!

    Revisions...Lap to RYN

There are far too many of us from "band to bypass" I did have the band but had it removed 5 yrs ago because for 3 years my body was rejecting it. I had RNY a little over 5 weeks ago and doing great. No regrets. (Well, except not going with the bypass from the very get-go) Good luck to you and hope all goes well!

    Music to sweat to...

That's a great idea! I actually have these looooooong mixed together songs on my Playlist. Some of them are like an hour long. All Michael Jackson songs remixed and amalgamated and such. The best songs of 2014 all remixed and amalgamated and so on. It helps pass the time for sure! Unless you've listened to that track too many times and you skip it... then you've literally just skipped an hours worth of music! Another thing I do is put my towel over the keyboard thingy so I can't see the time or what interval is coming up or anything. This way I don't dwell on how much time I have left and concentrate on keeping up to the beat of the songs. Keep up the great work!!!
