I've gotten back on track of sorts. I was switched from oxycodone to morphine for pain relief. The problem is that I think it also numbs the full feeling while I am eating, so i really have to watch portions. I haven't been exercising much the last 4 weeks because of knee and back pain, but now that our snow is gone I can start walking again. Sent from my SM-T537R4 using the BariatricPal App

Well, pain got the best of my head and I fell back to old habits! I have been making very poor choices on eating and haven't been able to exercise much. So, I come here to write this knowing it will be here for all to see and comment on. This way I know I will do something about it. Fortunately I haven't gained any weight, but I haven't lost any either. So, today I will take time to write up a plan and start all over again Monday morning.

Young Living Essential Oils usage
retzlpa replied to retzlpa's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Thank you James Marusek, I found your information to be very helpful and inspiring. I unfortunately am stuck in the proverbial gerbil wheel of life. I suffer from chronic pain, excess weight makes it worse, exercise aids in weight loss but causes pain, the pain is relieved to a manageable level with narcotics, those in turn depress the senses including feeling full, so i have to be very careful when I eat. Many friends have used Young Living oils and swear by them. One day this past summer I had disabling pain in my knee and was given a massage of a blend of oils and within minutes the pain began to subside. So I have read and looked at data and other essential oils for 5 months and finally decided my quality of life was such that I had to do something. The Dr.'s could only change my medication to morphine, this in itself is upsetting to me. So I am taking my health back by any means I can, and the Young Living Essential Oils is my choice to do just that! -
As I near my four month surgeversary, I am curious if anyone else uses the Young living essential oils for treatment of pain, stress, hunger, vitamins or any other reason. Look forward to hearing from you. Thank you very much for your help.

Just a little funny that's not so funny :)

I keep checking daily, ok hourly.....but still no visual proof, aka pictures! -
In addition to the dehydration, caffeine is also a stimulant and will cause you to be or feel hungry. BUT, the biggest reason for decaf only is that regular coffee is very acid and can cause stomach ulcers. (I am not a Dr. but I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express)

Well, I'm a man, I believe in seeing things to believe them. So perhaps a photo of the problem would be helpful! Many men are very visual in this way, especially when it involves the words sexy and bra and I don't remember anything else you posted! By the way, this is and was intended to be funny and from a man's perspective so i hope you take it as such! -

Embrace the Stall
retzlpa replied to Inner Surfer Girl's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Finally broke the stall.......60 days to the day. Just stayed the course and did what I was supposed to do and waited, and waited, and waited and watched the scale and complained and ask my nut 100 questions too. But, I finally broke it! -
Sip,sip, sip...very small amounts!

Funny you should post this. As I was brushing my teeth this morning I noticed several were very sensitive to cold water and just kind of felt like they ached. I just chalked it up to the weather and arthritis and all the rest of aches and pain reasons I have. But then I wondered about rapid weight loss and how much different my face was even. I would wonder if that would cause any issues with teeth as well. I will put that on my question list for Dr. in 2 weeks. My surgery was Oct 26th, 2015 so I am at the 3 month point.

My primary physician and the bariatric physician both submitted separate letters to my insurance stating the necessity for the surgery along with medical records of past weight loss attempts and I had a failed lapband that was eroded into my esophagus. They both estimated my life span without surgery at about 5 years. I was approved within 2 weeks. I still had to fast track through the meetings and psych evaluation though.

Our health care system is a complete mess. Medicine costs are through the roof and no end in sight. I had a balance on a medical bill of 20,000. I went into the hospital and sat across the desk from a patient advocate. I asked her what would happen if I didn't pay. She told me they would write off the bill and turn it into collections knowing at best they would get 20 percent. So, I said I can't afford to pay 20,000 but I will write a check for 10000 which is 50 percent and you can write the rest off. It's either that or turn it to collections. Guess what? They took my check as payment in full and wrote off the rest. Moral of story, never pay medical bill without negotiating first

Called my Dr., he changed prescription to the non extended release so i will now take it 4 times a day instead of two.....whoop dee doo, the price was 63 bucks for 120 pills. I have no problem taking it 4 times a day for that huge price difference. My Dr. was almost as pissed at me on the cost. While I sat in his office he called 3 pharmacies to get prices and all of them were within 10 bucks of each other. My Dr. is leaving to teach Feb. 2nd, so he made an appointment for me on the first and told me that we would go through all my meds at that time to make sure there are no more surprises, and to introduce me to the Dr. taking his place. So thankful for a Dr. that really cares. One thing I wish they would tell you about in the pre wls classes is the huge emotional swings that can happen. I have always been very level headed and calm during a crisis, so it was odd for me to fly off the handle yesterday. But it also brought me to a point of feeling like I should see a counselor to work through the emotions that are surfacing. Thank you to everyone who responded, this site and forums are great!
