Crying on the bathroom floor
Lala62 replied to White Sale's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Baby, it's going to be ok, I promise. Your body is going though tremendous stress right now and it most definitely affects how you feel emotionally. I am four months out from a band to sleeve conversion and about four to six weeks post op I felt like I descended into a dark pit. I wasn't prepared for that and didn't know what was going on. Looking back I realize how much stress my body, and consequently my soul and spirit, was under. I freaked out one day at work and even tried to quit my job, which is something I DEFINITELY can't do, and that sort of thing is way out of character for me. Fortunately my manager had a cool head and recognized what was going on. I was not well, and you aren't either right now, but you will be, and soon. After about two to two and a half months I turned a corner and felt like myself again. Also, I lost 10 pounds my first week but since then have only lost 16 more, so I'm going at a snail's pace. But I'm going in the right direction. Not everybody is going to drop half their body weight in a few months and that's ok. Let yourself heal and be gentle with yourself. You've been through a lot. This is major surgery and it's not easy. Get up off the bathroom floor, dry your tears, stop weighing yourself and ride it out. You are precious and you are worthy, just like you are. -

first post-- protein question
Lala62 replied to SKrae430's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Try Lift protein drinks by Atkins. They will help you meet your fluid and protein goals, plus they are good! The berry is the best to me. The lemon and orange are good but they are a little more viscous and don't quench my thirst as well. You can find them on Amazon. -
Having a TOUGH time getting in Protein
Lala62 replied to TheRevisionedVagabond's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Atkins makes a protein drink called Lift that is a clear liquid. The best place I've found to get them is on Amazon. They have 20 grams of protein and 2 grams of carbohydrates per bottle. The berry is my favorite. They aren't cheap but they're worth it. One of my main issues immediately post op was being thirsty all the time and these quenched my thirst like a shake couldn't. -

Hi there, sleeve sister! I can definitely see the difference. You look wonderful [emoji4]

55 pounds in 4 months is FABULOUS! That's the kind of stuff dreams are made of. I'm 2 weeks post op and hope I do as well as you. Congrats!

I have found that I no longer seem to care anything about my morning coffee. I've never been a coffee addict but my two daily cups was my favorite part of my mornings. But now...eh, I can take it or leave it. Just doesn't seem to taste the same. I hope the same holds true for the one true addiction that I DO have--Lifesavers Gummies. Omg, those things are of the devil! I go back to work Monday and those things are always around, as we are all addicted to them at my workplace. Haven't had any in weeks(I'm 2 weeks post op today). Gotta stay strong. I swear they put crack in them, too!

What NSV do you hope for post op?

Painting my own toenails without feeling like I'm going into cardiac arrest and not having to put antiperspirant in places where you're not supposed to have to put antiperspirant. Also, wearing pretty clothes again. -
I need to do this, no matter what

Mico, thank you for sharing your journey with us. I am almost 2 weeks post op now, and you are quite inspiring to me [emoji4][emoji106] -
I am using the Patch MD vitamins that I order from the Bariatric Pal store. I am less than 2 weeks post op so I have not had any labs done yet to confirm how effective they are or aren't. But there is a noticeable difference when I forget to put one on. My energy level is not nearly as good. So far I'm pleased. I use the B12 and the multivitamin patches.

Hi fscavs! I meet with Dr Marker tomorrow afternoon too. Have you been for your pre anesthesia appointment yet? That's where I work, normally out of room 51. Stop in and say hi!

I will remember the spoon tip. Anything to help! Funny how we take simple things like chewing for granted!
