Gastric Sleeve to Bypass revision
krash11 replied to Chaelove0810's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I had the sleeve for 3 years before my revision. I lost twenty lbs initially then re-gained 60 lbs. There was no restriction at all. I also developed Barrett's Esophagus from the gerd. Since getting the revision in December, I have lost 42 lbs and the reflux is gone. Don't hesitate to do it. -

Revision to rny
krash11 replied to dreamingofasleeve's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Thank You. I had reflux all the time. It was even happening when i was sleeping. I don't think you will regret the revision. My only problem with it is my little pouch doesn't like cheese/dairy anymore. -
Revision to rny
krash11 replied to dreamingofasleeve's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
The weight started coming off right away but i did have an early stall. I'm now steadily losing 1-2 lbs a week. They told me due to my previous surgeries that i would lose slower. I lost 8lbs prior to surgery and 32 since December 5th. -
Revision to rny

I went 3 years with the GERD before my revision. I didn't get on med's until I went to a new surgeon to see about the revision, It helped right away. I found out about the Barrett's when he sent me for my pre op scope. I had gained 60 lbs with the sleeve after loosing 100 with the lap band (it went bad and had to come out). My revision has been a breeze. I'm down 40 lbs and feeling great. The recovery was easier than both my previous surgeries. I have no regrets what so ever. -
Revision to rny

I got terrible reflux after my sleeve and developed Barrett's Esophagus. Got the revision in December and have had no reflux. I have been on nexium and now prevacid but am going to get scoped next week to see if the Barrett's has cleared up and get off the meds. -

I've found that one day i can eat something and i am fine. Eat the same thing another day and i can feel like crap. -
Once the swelling goes down, you will see more weight loss.

Gastric or Sleeve which is better?
krash11 replied to GIGI67's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I had horrible GERD after getting the sleeve. Never had it before. Had bypass in December and it is so much better, even the recovery was easier than the sleeve. -
Is gastric bypass surgery reversible at all??
krash11 replied to iPixie's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I currently have the sleeve and it's not all it's cracked up to be. Getting bypass in the morning. -
I also never had reflux until i got the sleeve. Since then it's been terrible, in fact i have developed Barrett's. RNY surgery is tomorrow at 10.

I sure will!

Anyone get bypass surgery for gerd?
krash11 replied to atomicbeing's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I'm getting my bypass from sleeve mainly because of the GERD. It has caused Barrett's esophagus which means the acid is causing pre-cancerous cells to form. -
I am in the exact same boat as you. I hadn't heard about leakage but i know because of the two previous procedures, the surgery will take a little longer. I'm scheduled for December 5th.

Great Job!
