Gastric Sleeve to Bypass revision
krash11 replied to Chaelove0810's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I had the sleeve for 3 years before my revision. I lost twenty lbs initially then re-gained 60 lbs. There was no restriction at all. I also developed Barrett's Esophagus from the gerd. Since getting the revision in December, I have lost 42 lbs and the reflux is gone. Don't hesitate to do it. -
Revision to rny

Thank You. I had reflux all the time. It was even happening when i was sleeping. I don't think you will regret the revision. My only problem with it is my little pouch doesn't like cheese/dairy anymore. -
Revision to rny

The weight started coming off right away but i did have an early stall. I'm now steadily losing 1-2 lbs a week. They told me due to my previous surgeries that i would lose slower. I lost 8lbs prior to surgery and 32 since December 5th. -
Revision to rny

I went 3 years with the GERD before my revision. I didn't get on med's until I went to a new surgeon to see about the revision, It helped right away. I found out about the Barrett's when he sent me for my pre op scope. I had gained 60 lbs with the sleeve after loosing 100 with the lap band (it went bad and had to come out). My revision has been a breeze. I'm down 40 lbs and feeling great. The recovery was easier than both my previous surgeries. I have no regrets what so ever. -

I got terrible reflux after my sleeve and developed Barrett's Esophagus. Got the revision in December and have had no reflux. I have been on nexium and now prevacid but am going to get scoped next week to see if the Barrett's has cleared up and get off the meds. -

Gastric or Sleeve which is better?
krash11 replied to GIGI67's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I had horrible GERD after getting the sleeve. Never had it before. Had bypass in December and it is so much better, even the recovery was easier than the sleeve. -
Is gastric bypass surgery reversible at all??
krash11 replied to iPixie's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I currently have the sleeve and it's not all it's cracked up to be. Getting bypass in the morning. -
I also never had reflux until i got the sleeve. Since then it's been terrible, in fact i have developed Barrett's. RNY surgery is tomorrow at 10.

Anyone get bypass surgery for gerd?
krash11 replied to atomicbeing's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I'm getting my bypass from sleeve mainly because of the GERD. It has caused Barrett's esophagus which means the acid is causing pre-cancerous cells to form. -
I am in the exact same boat as you. I hadn't heard about leakage but i know because of the two previous procedures, the surgery will take a little longer. I'm scheduled for December 5th.

Anyone have a revision?
krash11 replied to J_Mkay's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Banded 2008 and lost 101 lbs. Bounced back and fourth with 20 lbs for about 7 yrs before band slippage forced me to change over to the sleeve in 2015. I have now gained back half my weight loss. Waiting on a surgery date for RNY. -
I called a ton of Dr's to see if they did this but none did. In fact, they said it couldn't be done. I really miss my band and hate the sleeve.

2 and a half years out from the sleeve and i am always hungry, never full.

Gastric Bypass option off table-having sleeve
krash11 replied to tuckersmom's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I never had reflux before getting the sleeve and now it is terrible. Getting the bypass soon to alleviate it. Also gained half the weight i lost with the band. I am always hungry and have no restriction. Just an FYI from the other side of the surgery. -

Too Tall For a Gastric Bypass?
krash11 replied to cristobal's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I can give you my personal Sleeve experience. I was banded in 2008 and lost 101 lbs. In 2015, i started having slippage and the Dr. recommended the sleeve. He told me there would be restriction and the hunger centers would be taken out. Well here we are over two years later and i have gained half my weight back. I am always hungry so i end up snacking all day. Even if I can get full, it only lasts for an hour or so then i'm eating again. I'm getting my pre-op testing done now to go to a full by-pass. I know the sleeve works for some but from my point of view, i would never recommend it and wish I had never done it. -
Time for a lower body lift! Have you had one?
krash11 replied to lauren66's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I didn't have a lower body lift but i did get a full tummy tuck after losing 101 lbs. My advise is to wear the compression garment they give you. It's weird peeing through the cut out but it will be painful if you take it off. Also, use a pillow when you cough, sneeze or try to get up or down. Try to recover in a chair you can easily get in and out of, nothing to low. -
i have gained back 50lbs after losing 100lbs with the band.
