    February 2016 sleevers?

Me too! though I'm here until Sunday. The mentioned I shoild try drinking water today (I had my leak test) and that they'd try me on some thin yogurt drink thing tonight, but no drink. Given that I've been zipping water and it still kind of hurts I'm glad though. I'm home now! They started me on this 15g protein shake - it was fruity and actually good. Plus broth, jello and Popsicles. I had to focus on the shakes yesterday and got two in. Just drank one on the 1.5 drive from San Francisco to Sacramento. Taking a break and will just sip water. This afternoon ill try to drink a premier protein shake. It has 30g of protein in it so if I can't get anymore after that im OK. Hope they get you your yogurt drink soon. Does it hurt when water goes down or your whole stomach? I drink, it goes down, and then a second later it hurts, I have to wait for it. I was given something warm to drink this morning that didn't hurt so much (was it tea? was it chocolate? no idea, it was brown and milky and didn't really taste like anything) I was able to finish the mug in about 20 mins or so, and bad my first bm after, so things seem to be ok.

  3. I'm writing this from my hospital bed in the Czech Republic. I also came alone from the UK and it's been fine. In hindsight I think it's better because if people had been here we would have had to talk about it and I would just have gotten myself more wound up.

OK Ladies, kinda embarrasing question for you all

Well, I'm a day and a half post op, sitting in my hospital bed, hurting like a bitch and glad I shaved. I haven't been allowed to shower re wear underwear under my gown yet yet, but I started my period somewhere between the recovery room and waking up properly yesterday and it was a lot easier to clean up with wet wipes being bare down there.

    February 2016 sleevers?

Tomorrow is the big day! Current sat in hospital doing all my pre-op stuff. So far have given a blood sample, urine sample, had an x ray, and done the camera test. Good luck all my fellow 2nd-ers

    At the hospital now!

Man, they weren't kidding around with the sedative I got for the camera down the throat test. They sprayed my throat (gross stuff) and told me to lie in my side, then gave me the injection. They next thing I know I wake up in bed in my room.

OK Ladies, kinda embarrasing question for you all

Amelie2016 I was lucky enough not to have that issue ( was your razor a little blunt? We're you using a good shaving gel?). It was difficult to shave though, I had problems with my belly being in the way etc. In the end I used a mirror and some patience. I didn't have the option of not doing it though as the nurses will check.

I asked and she said there are mixed results in studies as to whether it's more hygienic, but different countries have different stands depending on the research and here it just happen to be that they shave.

Anyone else with a Feb 1st date?

I actually have a jawbone up that does much the same thing, but I had to stop wearing it when it started to give me a rash on my wrist. Apparently I didn't need to worry too much about the low carb thing after all because I got to the hospital and the surgeon okayed they giving me potatoes with dinner.
  11. If you've upped your exercise check your calories, too little can mean stalls just as easily as too much.

OK Ladies, kinda embarrasing question for you all

Going by the answers to the post I made on the private facebook page for our surgeon about how difficult it is to shave that area with my great bloody belly and thighs in the way, yes, men and women. I'm not based in the US so maybe it's just different in Europe? If it's not for the catheter then I'm not sure why.
  13. I've been on preop for one week (solid food, low carb low fat) for the lat week, lost 4kg (8.8lbs)

    Wings

It's kind of high fat at this point, and as the above post says, be sure you can handle it without a drink, but if you're cleared for chicken they're fairly moist so you would be physically capable.

My paperwork said it's rare they do, I'm really hoping they don't need to.

It was mentioned twice in mine, so they obviously have strong feelings on the subject. Given that I'm sure the nurses enjoy shaving our lady bits as much as I would enjoy having them shaved, I'd like to spare us all. It mentioned after they make you have a shower immediately pre-op they will check if you are actually shaved.

My pre-op stuff said shave it yourself before you arrive or they will make me shave it there, however my room comes with a private bathroom so I can do that. There was a sentence/warning saying the nurses may do it for you. That sounded kind of mortifying so I will do myself before getting there. I think it's in case they need to put a catheter in.
  18. It depends on your doctor. Some are very strict on their pre-op and weight gain. The pre op diet is mainly about shrinking the liver though, what were you eating that made you gain the weight? if your liver is too big it could indeed affect surgery, but you do have a few days to fix it if you're strict with yourself.
  19. I got lucky with my pre-op, the surgeon is ok with you eating regular food provided it's low carb/low fat, so I've been able to do Protein shake Breakfast, Soup with unflavoured protein for breakfast and fish/turkey with vegetables (usually spinach or stirfry mix) for dinner. I don't drink coffee or soda so I haven't had to deal with the withdrawal in that regard.

    Stretched Sleeve

You mentioned that when you went back to eating the right kind of food and lost a few pounds, so I would say your sleeve is working as it should. Keep on eating the right kind of food (I don't know if you were in maintenence after your first loss or not, but if you were obviously reduce calories to go back into WL mode) and you should continue to see progress. I posted a video in this forum a couple of days ago about sleeve tolerance and stretching as you get further out from surgery that may be helpful to you.
