I loathe having to buy new bras especially since I need a 36 something and I will have to have leave plus sizes. I will have to go try on 500 different bras to find a new one. I really need to get fitted but the thought of that is embarrassing. Just a hold over from being obese for 2 decades. It shouldn't be this hard...

I too still have issues 6 months out. I keep the Zofran handy and am resigned as this is my current "normal". -
The Best and the Worst: Your Weight Loss Surgery NON-MEDICAL Experience
sharkgirl replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Best: average sized clothes and being able to get into yoga positions much easier Worst: trying to eat out with other people because they all seem to think I can just eat small portions of all foods -
I don't really have any pictures either because it's not noticeable except to me. My ponytail is very thin and I can wrap the holder around 4 times where is used to be 2. It's not as full as it used to be but the average person wouldn't notice the difference. I don't have any breakage so I've left it longer and continue to highlight it. The constant shedding is super annoying and I have to clean my brushes and drain a couple times of week. Small price to pay really.

Gross Bathroom Question
sharkgirl replied to birdiestofbirds's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Me too. I have a cocktail of stuff I take to avoid constipation per the direction of my Dr because apparently not going for a week is bad. -

sharkgirl replied to MozzaWehsha's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I can eat sugar in small amounts with no issues, but high fat is not tolerable. -

Comments from only one sex
sharkgirl replied to Briardlady's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I was just talking about this with a male co-worker. He always says something but we are friends. He has noticed other male coworkers ask if I've changed my hair instead. -
Have you noticed people treating you differently?
sharkgirl replied to Chrystee's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
Most definitely but I've also noticed women being more bitchy. Makes me remember why I had more male friends in my teens/twenties when I was thin. -
Early 2016 - what are you streaming on netflix, amazon etc?

I just saw "All of Me"
sharkgirl replied to Pinkgirl1234's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I too thought it focused too much on the BBW angle as well. Most of us women with morbid obesity aren't anywhere near that lifestyle. I thought the same thing and had never even heard of the BBW lifestyle until this show. I was very sad after watching it and very grateful my insurance would pay for my surgery. I was also grateful to have a wonderful husband... -
Congratulations!!!!

Cellulite at Goal - Did It Go Away?

I've heard it's lots and lots of squats but I believe genetics plays into it too. I want my butt back so I am doing lots and lots of squats and lunges. -
The black and white one
-
Going in - how cold the room was and moving from one bed to the other and hoping they didn't groan from my weight. Coming out - being told to stop rubbing my eyes, complaining my shoulder hurt and hearing a Code Blue over the loudspeaker and hoping it wasn't me. I actually don't remember much for the first 8 hours after surgery. My husband said my blood pressure plummeted to 80/40 which caused alarms to go off and then I got mad about the BP machine and asked for a manual reading but their cuff was broken. My BP then went up because I was pissed they wouldn't do a manual check. The BP machine hurts and leaves super bad bruises on my arm because of my bleeding disorder.

That's awesome! For me, the new clothes has been the best part of this process.

A couple of random NSVs
sharkgirl replied to gowalking's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I love NSV's like that. I am a silly one too: I regularly take baths and read on my kindle. I rest the kindle on a bathpillow and noticed recently the bottom is always soaking wet where it didn't use to be. I realized it's because my lap is smaller and now below the Water level. -
The Best Thing About Gastric Bypass for me---

My surgeon said to be aware that sometimes it can be confused with nausea but it's really an empty and hungry pouch. -
My 600 Pound Life: 2016 Season
sharkgirl replied to Inner Surfer Girl's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Darn! I forgot to set the DVR and hate watching it online because the TLC site sucks on my iPad. I find Dr. Now to be an ass. Maybe it's the editing or he feels he has to be but his bed side manner wouldn't work with me. -
Travel a few months following surgery
sharkgirl replied to CanadaLoser's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I went to London 4 mos post op and I just planned ahead. I brought Protein shake powder and bars and Snacks with me. I found the food there difficult for me to eat (lots of pork and bread). I made sure I always had a shake for Breakfast and a bar for lunch with almonds or beef Jerky for snacks so I had most of my Protein in the day. My biggest issue was drinking enough Water because we walked a lot or went to places that didn't allow us to bring water or backpacks inside. -
Post Surgery Foods You Can't Tolerate But Wish You Could
sharkgirl replied to Cutwater's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Scrambled eggs - I can eat hard boiled eggs Mashed potatoes - I hate these now meat - I continue to try but it makes me nauseous Bread - I haven't tried sandwiches but have had a few bits of bread with a salad and it just fills me up too fast Tortillas - sits in the pouch like a lump Unfortunately, I can eat more sweets then I would like but I just have to not eat them or eat in moderation.
