  1. Congratulations on your weight loss! This was going to be my suggestion. Last year before surgery I walked about 20 miles a week including completing a half marathon and I lost nothing. Your body becomes very efficient at exercising so you have to change it up. I do very little cardio and focus on the strength training. It has completely stalled my weight loss on the scale but I am getting smaller and have a lot more muscle definition. It's a struggle to "be ok" with the weight on the scale and focus on the changes to my body. I am trying to be okay with a more athletic build rather than the number on the scale but it's an easy thing to say vs putting it into practice. I limit cardio to the days when I need that "rest" from the strength training because I personally have found I don't get a lot from cardio workouts. Again, this works for me but I am a huge advocate for strength training and all the benefits to the body; a little goes a long way too.
  2. this is great! Thanks for putting it together.
  3. I put on a pair of pants this morning, I have never worn. They are a size 14 from White House Black Market. I also bought a pair of size 14 super skinny jeans yesterday and they are a little big in the waist. I am beyond thrilled to be out of plus sizes!
  4. This! I read the article and thought the same thing. I didn't lose weight as fast as these contestants but I know pre surgery I needed to stick to a diet of around 1200 calories to lose weight and that was hard because I has hangry all the damn time.
  5. I am very sad for her because I have been there; not winning Biggest Loser but gaining back weight that I worked so hard to lose and the shame and embarrassment associated with that. Wonder if Dr. Huizenga will stop judging those of us who choose WLS and stop thinking we are taking the easy way out. Since Ali Vincent became the first woman to win “The Biggest Loser,” she has battled ups and downs — and struggled on the scale. After shedding 112 pounds to win the show in 2008, Vincent says she has gained back most of the weight she fought so hard to lose, nearly returning to her pre-“Biggest Loser” weight of 234 pounds. Her struggles, she revealed, have made her ashamed. “When I struggle I shut down, I feel alone, I push people away, I hide, I sleep all day, I eat, I try to feel satisfied and comforted but do nothing to allow true satisfaction or comfort.” Vincent became a celebrity during “The Biggest Loser’s” fifth season, when the 5-foot-5 champion walked away from the competition 112 pounds thinner. “I have had successes and I have had major losses,” she wrote on Facebook last week. “I have gone from feeling alone to having thousands of people reach out with support. I have experienced ultimate highs that I could have never dreamed of as well as nightmares I wouldn’t wish on an enemy. Quite frankly some of them have gotten the better of me and I have struggled. But the next year, she told NBC’s “Today” that she already was apprehensive about regaining the weight, explaining that she was worried that she would put the pounds back on unless she spent every spare minute at the gym. She said she continued to use her BodyBugg, a calorie-management system that the contestants wore on their arms, and threw away all of the junk food in her home. “I childproofed my life,” she told “Today” in 2009. “I don’t want to leave anything to guesswork when I have the tools not to.” But the weight started to creep back on anyway. Vincent recently appeared on Oprah Winfrey’s OWN series “Where Are They Now?” and talked about a low point several months ago, when she was slammed with comments about her weight during a Facebook Live chat. “I really started hiding after that,” she said. On April 15, the eighth anniversary of her victory, she didn’t get out of bed, Vincent said. “I was ashamed,” she said. “I was just ashamed. I was embarrassed. It was a low point. It was probably my lowest point. I won ‘The Biggest Loser.’ I was the first female to win ‘The Biggest Loser.’ Like, I’m Ali Vincent. I’m supposed to be strong. I’m supposed to know how to do this – I do know how to do it.” Vincent said she realized that she was headed in a dangerous direction. “If I keep going in the direction I’m going,” she said, “I don’t know if I’ll ever come back. I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to have the strength to do something different.” Then, Vincent said, on April 16, she did “one of the hardest things in my life.” She decided to lose the weight — again — and announced publicly that she has joined Weight Watchers. “I swore I would never be there again, be here again,” she wrote on Facebook. “I couldn’t imagine a day again that I would weigh over 200 pounds. I feel ashamed. I feel embarrassed. I feel overwhelmed. I feel like failure.” Vincent is chronicling her latest weight-loss efforts online. Weight Watchers, which is partially owned by Winfrey, said Vincent is a not a paid spokesperson. “I’ve decided to feel proud of myself again,” she wrote. “To hell with shame. I’ve been so afraid and worried of public shame and ridicule that I’ve created more pain for myself than anyone else can but not anymore. “I know there is going to be a lot of faking it until I make it on the proud front but I’m starting with taking action.” http://www.msn.com/en-us/tv/news/%E2%80%98i-feel-embarrassed%E2%80%99-a-%E2%80%98biggest-loser%E2%80%99-winner-confesses-her-weight-gain-shame/ar-BBsq9yz?li=BBnb2gh

    Shorter than I thought!

This happened to me, I swore I was 5'8" but nope I am now 5'7'.
  7. I also heard WW changed their program for Oprah so she could eat what she wanted but appear successful. Don't know if that was true or not...
  8. When I first started exercising I wouldn't go to a gym because I was too embarrassed so I bought a Zumba video and some 5 lb hand weights. There are a ton of strength training exercises online or buy a couple of women's fitness magazines as they have exercise routines for you to follow. Look online for walking interval training exercises too because your body will get used to walking and really all cardio so you have to change it up. I wouldn't commit to anything until you find something you like but have found that my exercise preferences have changed dramatically after I got stronger and more confident.

  11. OMG an excel spreadsheet? How have I not thought of that before. I am going to code a database for my clothing and accessories tonight! Thanks for the idea. Wow!!!! Will you make one for me???
  12. Now you need a little dog to fill in that space in your lap. My two little dogs were very excited that my lap is smaller and they can fill in the space.

    BAM....and there it is.

I'm very sorry he is so cruel to you with his words. As for the weight gain, you got this! You know what needs to be done and don't let his lack of support effect you.

    Jeans that fit

This was going to be my suggestion too. I also had to buy a belt because the waist and butt would be too big but I can't get the jeans small enough to fit those parts and not be too tight in the legs. The belt is helping a lot; who knew! I haven't worn a belt in 20 years. I've also been doing a ton of squats and lunges to improve my flat butt.

    Big bosomed friends

I did recently. What a difference. I knew my band has shrunk. I was trying so hard to get normal bras (38DD) but they just looked awful... Quad boob or uniboob, spillage, slippage, back fat etc... I went and got fitted and am a 36ff. What a difference! Because I am so saggy I got moulded cups. The girls are firmly in place and look adorably perky in my clothes. No back fat. A good bra makes a world of difference. Sent from my SM-G930P using the BariatricPal App Where did you go?

    dead inside...

I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost my Dad unexpectedly a few years ago and it left a huge hole in my heart; I cannot image losing a son. Honestly, I used my kids as the reason to keep going because I knew they needed me. Please be good to yourself. Hugs and prayers for you and yours.

    Big bosomed friends

Mine are really saggy and look Water balloons. My cup size is the same but I was a 40 and now a 36. I really need to get measured for new bras that make the girls look better
  21. @@pr_pitbullgrl Squats and princess lunges are helping. My butt is finally starting to take some shape and looks pretty damn good when my jeans fit. I bought one of those bender balls for squats, you squeeze it between your thighs (right above your knees) while you are doing your squats to work your inner thighs. Yoga has been helping a lot too because apparently being a flamingo builds up the gluts.
  22. @@mngreeneyes I've been working with a trainer to get my butt back because it became super fat. I feel like my first 30 lbs were lost in my butt.

    Mirena removal

I'm on my 2nd one but didn't experience weight gain or any other stuff. In fact, this one is actually caused my period to almost disappear which is great because it used to be so heavy. I will say that having it removed was pretty painful, more than I expected it to be. Good luck!
