Lost a Friend This Weekend
sharkgirl replied to JamieLogical's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I'm sorry for your loss. IMO, I don't think you should say anything to your co-worker, people have to be ready to make the choice about losing weight. You really just need to pray that the death of your co-worker is the catalyst to get him to do something. -
Clothing Sizes: What do they even mean anymore?!?!?
sharkgirl replied to OutsideMatchInside's topic in The Gals' Room
I found the same thing. When I was 24, I lost weight before my wedding and got to 145 lbs and wore a size 8. I am currently 162 lbs and wearing a size 10/medium. I am much thinner now then I was at 160 lbs but I also work out a lot doing heavy weights and boot camp where I just dieted 20 year ago. I am just happy to walk into any store and now there are clothes that fit me. -
Not a sleeve but I wanted one but my reflux kept it from being an option. I regretted by surgery early on but after almost a year I have no regrets at all.

Let's talk about Reactive Hypoglycemia
sharkgirl replied to Wallflower7522's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
Yes, I struggle with it too (have since surgery) and I can't figure out a correlation to when I'm going to have a low blood sugar event. I have figured out the best way (for me) to quickly fix is a about 2 oz of juice and then I'm good. -
I have been curious about this too

How is yoga useful in weight loss?
sharkgirl replied to karthikselvam's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I do pretty intense yoga a couple times a week and I have found I am definitely stronger, more lean muscle and more flexible. I don't know that is burns a lot of calories but I am more about building muscle and a cardio type workout. Yoga has so may health benefits especially for women that even if you aren't burning calories you should still incorporate it into your workout routine. Doing yoga has helped me with my strength training workouts as well as in scuba with the breath control. -
I found the precooked/peeled eggs at the store last night and bought some. I didn't think they were too expensive and definitely convenient.

@gpmedI have considered fostering for the same rescue group we adopted our two dogs from but I am afraid of becoming a dog hoarder

I think it's a fun thing to do, here is mine: Married to my high school/college boyfriend for 20 years I have two kids and my youngest saved our married I can be very shy until I get to know you I am extremely loyal, like help you bury the body in your back yard I watch almost exclusively reality tv, it's a train wreck that I can't stop watching I love to read but primarily read trashy romance/erotica books I am a classically trained pianist My "second job" is marching band as I am "parent A" for my daughters activities I LOVE sharks and am going shark cage diving with great whites in July. I have seen Jaws probably 200 times I hate to cook and WLS has reinforced not cooking since my meals consist of Snacks that my family doesn't consider meals I love to workout, I crave the endorphins that I get from strength training. I can do a forward bend with my forehead touching my thighs but I couldn't run a mile if you chased me I have ADHD that I control with exercise and supplements I have two rescue Chihauhaus; the first one I got as a support/grief dog after my Dad passed away I have hiked 6 14ers and did those before WLS

I went zip lining for the first time on Saturday. It's another goal item because I previously weighed too much to go. AND since they weigh you as they put the gear on you, I saw that I weigh less then my super skinny guy friend that was doing it with me. Probably won't ever go again, turns out it was a lot of work and I wasn't good at it so I finished the last half of the course tandem with the cute 22 year old guide.

HUGE NSV - Ziplining
sharkgirl replied to sharkgirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wasn't able to properly brake myself (you use a gloved hand and push down on the wire behind the pulley thing) and keep myself from spinning by holding the anchor at the pulley thing. After I lost control on the longest and fastest line, the guide decided I should tandem to him on the rest of the course. When I came in to stop I ended up with a wire burn and huge bruise at the top of my neck from the guide stopping me. The irony is it's bony up there now and wasn't when I weighed more. It was fun when I was tandem because all I had to do was hold on and guide did everything else. -
Furious and back to ER I go!

You are a good man and I believe in Karma and what you put out into the universe. My Dad continued to pay child support long after he was supposed to because he knew my Mom used it to supplement the household bills because she too started from scratch in the working world. (My brother and I both lived at home into our early twenties while we went to college). He also paid her alimony (the amount wasn't a lot) up until he passed away when he could have taken her to court to prove he didn't need it.

Are Protein Bars even worth it?
sharkgirl replied to OutsideMatchInside's topic in Food and Nutrition
I think they are worth it but I eat them more for emergencies or travel. -
Whose laughing, woman ? I swear I'm going to ram the next left-lane-slow driver in the arse with my bumper. Gonna do it...........one day. Today is not that day, though. I regularly wish for the turtle shell or missiles from Mario Cart for these drivers.
