Sometimes it's hard to not get down on myself for not losing enough weight this week, not meeting my mini-goal by the end of the year, not liking what I see in the mirror, etc... but I just have to keep reminding myself that I've lost over 130 pounds... and that's a significant achievement!

I'm going to Hawaii in February and I "wanted" to be at 200lbs by then. I "wanted" to lose 20lbs a month for the first 3 months of being sleeved. 2 months out, I'm 25lbs down from surgery. I could totally get in my head about it. I'm really good at getting in my head about it, but then I remember that I started trying to lose weight in earnest about 7 years ago and in all those years the first thing I always "wanted" was to be under 250. Well, I'm there now, so instead of being down on myself for not being where I decided I "wanted" to be 2 months ago. I'm choosing to be grateful that something I am finally something that I "wanted" for so long. Chin up! You've come so far, don't discount it.

I say congratulations to you! 130 is (as you said) a significant amount of weight to have lost in 15 months. I lost a total of 152 and it took me 18 months to get there. Those last 20lbs are awful to lose, you have to work ten times as hard to make it happen. Once you get to maintenance it is even harder. Enjoy your achievement and keep working hard! A word of advice probably way too late for you both.....assigning a time to weight loss simply doesnt work. You just have to work the plan and when you get there you get there.

I did the same thing, Chrmow. I'm going on vacation in less than 2 weeks and I wanted to be at 185 by that time. I'm within 10 pounds of that, so it's not terrible, but Djmohr is right - I shouldn't have assigned a number to a specific amount of time. No plans to give up here and I've accepted that it will take a bit longer for me than it has for many others I've seen post on BP. I was a pretty slow loser from the get-go. However, I am the lowest weight I've been at in my adult life and at the smallest size I can remember, too! These last 20-30 pounds are definitely proving to be stubborn. I do have a bit of body dysmorphia but it's something I've been working on with my therapist so I'm optimistic that I'll get over it someday. Thanks to everyone for your comments

The lowest weight I can recall seeing on a scale was 198.6 when I was 15 years old. I'm now officially below that!
