It's three weeks since you started this topic. You may have everything under control already, but I'll respond anyway. You are no way the only banded person to regain. You're also not the only one who felt too embarrassed to ashamed to make an appointment with her surgery practice. It's okay to feel that way; the feelings happen to us. What's not okay is not to make the appointment. Surgery staff from surgeons to NP's to RD's and all the others have seen and heard it all many times before. When a patient comes back after a long time away, they are still there to help. There's the old saying about cutting off one's nose to spite one's face. Why do that to yourself? March your little, red face into that office. As to the band itself, I think it's more a matter of re-establishing the partnership than having the band work for you. You're the one with ultimate responsibility for the work. We all are. You can build a support system by attending the band support groups at the hospitals in your area. As far as I know, they all welcome each other's patients: We're all in this together. (It's probably also a matter of not costing anything to accept patients from other practices into the groups. So much the better.) Take part in BP. An appointment with your practice's RD may help you plot out your food choices anew. Laurie Thank you so much for this post! It's been a little over 2 weeks (liquid) & I've lost 9lbs. I went for my first fill this last monday and I still have no restriction so I'm going back tomorrow for another film. My doctor's office does not have a nutritionist but, I am going to call around and see who has a nutritionist specialize in bariatric patients! Thank you again! I'm ready to get restarted in this

Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk I am sorry you are having such a different experience than I am with that doctor and office.Yea they're always brushing me off. He put me on a 2 week liquid diet. Emptied my band & didn't explain why or anything. I called in saying I felt really nauseous & light headed taking only 3 shakes a day & all I get is " that's the point, for you to be hungry, it's so you lose some weight." And "see you for your fill in a week" Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

That's great that you're back on track. I went in on Monday and was at 260 (original surgery day weight was 275) and he put me in a 2 week liquid diet before an fills. I've dropped 11lbs in 4 days !! You can do it!

Ugh I have a similar problem. Not with fast food but I LOVE EATING OUT. I really didn't like cooking at home bc I never knew what to make but I started cooking at home the same things I would eat out... if I went to carrabbas for chicken marsala. I'd make it at home but a "healthier version " or apple bees boneless wings I'd make at home... can you try doing that? Cooking at home healthier but similar versions of fast food.

I thought for some reason it was $350 but when I called they said 150 for fill and 50 for a check up/weigh in. I think the 350 was when I bought the Optifast Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

Hey everyone. I had my band placed in 2010 I was 20 when I got it done. I was single. No kids. My starting weight was 275. I'm now 24. Engaged 2 babies. I just went this Monday to get a fill and get back on track. My dr unfilled me put me on a 2 week liquid diet then I'll be back in 2 weeks to get a fill and start from the get. Initially I lost around 90lbs. I gained most back but not all. I'm ready to get started again and get to loosing.

I go to Pinellas county but live in tampa. My surgeon charges 150 for a fill or unfilled and 50$ for an office visit/ weigh in. I just saw him on Monday and I'm deciding to give him another try. He started me on a 2 week liquid diet and then going for a fill. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk Surgeon works in Pasadena Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

Anyone banded 4+ yrs & starting from 0?
BandedDiva10 replied to BandedDiva10's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I guess you're right. When I first got pregnant I had extreme nausea which caused me to throw up constantly so my dr recommended to get it unfilled. And the same happened with my second. They are 2 yrs and a week apart. So during the whole time I was unfilled. I'm starting my liquids tomorrow and I'm going to just do this!! My start weight was 275 too!
