Went out and had a great time. No pressure from my friends. I ended up ordering tortilla soup and sipping on the broth. Then we went to a wine and painting place and I just had my Water. I told my friends that I had a hernia removed, which I did, and they were all okay with it.

Need new food ideas for 2nd week post-op
Runner1 replied to Runner1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am allowed to do cream Soups, but only one a day, and Protein shakes, Jello, broths. I love the sound of the potato soup and the leek soup. Not sure why I wouldn't be able to do a sugar fee pudding, since its the same consistency as cream soup. Thanks for the ideas. -
Great ideas! Thanks and I think I will go and use it as a learning experience, besides I can't not go since I/m hosting it. Maybe I will try a broth based soup if they have one, but if not will do my shake, Can't wait till the soft food stage.

7 weeks post op and still doing 2 shakes per day
Runner1 replied to shellyd67's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been adding unflavored Protein powder to my protein shakes, which give me 56 grams of protein at breakfast. I do one half of another for lunch and one for dinner for a total of 112 grams protein. Right now Im still on Water and shakes, so this makes it easy for me to get it all in. -
Recommendation for good nutritionist in Dallas
Runner1 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I do not have a nutritionist and was thinking I will need one soon. Currently, I just see my physician and he tells me whats next, but I think having a nutritionist will be necessary in the coming weeks. So, if anyone has recommendation for one in the Dallas area, and one that will accept insurance, i'd appreciate it. Thanks! -

Runner1 replied to shellyd67's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I havent heard of the patches. Where do you get them and how much do they cost? Does insurance cover them? Do you need a prescription? Is it just for the multivitamin? -

In my struggle to find Protein supplements, I ran across a liquid concentrate that packs a whopping 43g of protein. Has anyone used the New whey Liquid Shots? I asked my physician today if it was okay to use and he said that it was. Just wondering if anyone else has used it and if you had to dilute it? Thanks!

I am miserable! Every time I try to get my liquids in I feel as if it stops at my chest. To the point I cant breathe. Anyone else having this problem? It is frustrating trying to get required amounts in.

I have only consumed 221 calories today, and feeling like I should be consuming more. Im only 4 days post-op and an struggling getting anything down. Is everyone else having this problem? Is there anything I can do to get more Protein in to bump up my calories? Can't exist on 221 calories. Thanks!

Thank You! Good to hear that it will get better. So, I guess I will not be able to reach my protein goal until I heal. My head says to drink more, but my sleeve says to slow down. Gotta listen to my sleeve. Thanks again ! -
September Sleevers How are we doing?
Runner1 replied to Linaka's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi All! I got my sleeve on October the 8th. Hope its okay to post on here. I am really feeling I made as mistake as well. Can't get anything down. I take a sip of Protein and then I feel full and tightness in my abdomen followed by nausea. Not sure if this is normal. I dont have any energy either. Trying to stay hydrated, because I know that is a vital part of this whole process. Also, Ive been taking Centrum Silver chewables, which arent bad at all, but was wondering if they caused anyone else fullness like me. I pray this gets better and is something I wont regret forever. -
I assume when you say PPI that you are talking about acid reducer? I've taking OTC Pepcid twice a day.
