I'm on my 4th week post-op. What kind of excercises are allowed at this stage? I have been doing treadmill, eliptical and lunges with bi-cep curls. What else can I do?

What exercise 4 weeks out?
Runner1 replied to Runner1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor said I could workout starting at 2 weeks out, but I didn't want to injure myself. Last week I started doing some machines at the gym and the eliptical for 30 minutes. But what I really wanted to know is what everyone did when they first started working out. What about running? Biking? I had a hernia repaired and don't want to mess that up. -
I too started with a low BMI of 37. I was sleeved on 10/8/15 in Dallas. I still have concerns of not being able to keep the weight off. I'm currently down 27 lbs. Still on protein shakes twice a day and soft foods when I can squeeze them in. Glad to here I am not alone.

Anyone using the Bariactric calcium chews?
Runner1 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just noticed there are 20 calories and 5 carbs in each Calcium chew, and I was told to take 6 a day. Is anyone else using these and what are your thoughts? -
Why is it bad to drink with your meals? Does it wash the food down to fast and you don't absorb the nutrients or is it because it makes you eat too much?
-
Oops! Drank with my food.

Great comments! I am going to stick to just getting my Protein and liquids down for now. Pretty I haven't eaten over 2 oz at a time, but will start measuring. -

Just took me an hour to eat 3 oz tuna and never got to the sweet potatoes I made. If Im allowed only 30 minutes to eat per meal and it take me 15 mins. to eat an oz, how do I get all my Protein in? Will I ever get to my veggies? -

@outsidematchins I was not given any portion sizes, just amounts of protein and water. Don't have a nutritionist either. What portions should i be eating? -

Starting all Over- need buddy and mentor
Runner1 replied to Shrinkmepls's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I wouldnt worry about the weight loss, because y0ur dr. already sent in your weight and they will you the weight from your first visit as the starting weight. You need to focus on losing some weight. I would go on the Protein shakes and Clear liquids for two weeks prior. -

Never heard of this. Is it suppose to be a class about gastric sleeve? Is it a workout class? -
I do not feel like I have any restriction
Runner1 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When I eat I do not feel any pain or fullness. I have accidentally taken a big gulp of Water and didn't have any pain. A couple of times I have eaten 3 or 4 teaspoons back to back and had no pain or fullness. Wondering if maybe my sleeve isn't as tight as it should be. -

I am 14 days post op. Im on liquids for 3 weeks. I can have pudding, which I have had and I didnt feel in restriction with that either. I had cream soups and no restriction feeling either. I was a bit worried that if Im not feeling restriction how would not over eat later one? -
Stuck stuck stuck!
Runner1 replied to ALLABTME_KISHA's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Read something today that stuck in my mind. Why rush to get to goal weight when thats where youll be for a life time. If its a life change, then it doesn't happen over night, and shouldn't. So and steady is the correct pace as in life. Made me stop and appreciate where i am today. -
Anyone else getting hiccups? Not sure if I'm drinking too fast or drinking too much. Just started today, and always after I have broth or Protein shake. Any opinions?
-
I was never given any set numbers for calories or amount of protein. I am wondering why my doctor wouldnt specify a certain amount. Im now 13 days post-op. I still on two protein shakes and two bottles of water a day, I do a protein shake for breakfast, soup for lunch, and protein for dinner with water in between. He told me I could have one cream soup occassionally. Any thougts?

Where's my weight loss?
Runner1 replied to orb7007's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also started out with a low BMI 40 and lost 9 lbs first week, and maybe a couple pounds for second week, but that it. Hoping I will continue at 2-3 lbs a week. -
No set calories or protein
Runner1 replied to Runner1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
He never told me how he wanted me to eat either, and I notice most on here eat 6-7 times a day with a 30 mins limit per meal. I am just wondering, because Ive been taking my time getting my protein and soups down. Some times it takes 46 mins to finish a meal. It seems like the meals all run together and im drinking all the time. -
Celebrating my friends birthday tomorrow. We are going to Mexican food place and painting with a wine. They do not know about my WLS. What can I have to kind of blend in, besides Water. I'm only 1 week post-op.
