Runner1 replied to WalkOnWaking's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

I was just reading a post about slider foods and was wondering what are slider foods? I am thinking they must be sfood that goes down easily. Are slider foods something we are suppose to stay away from? Wondering if cream cheese is a slider food? What about applesauce?

I'm not a big chips or cookie person. Now put a pie or cake in front of me and there might be a problem. Had turkey, cauliflower, 1 tbsp cranberries, tsp of stuffing, some cheese and no dessert for Thanksgiving dinner. I was hard, but just kept busy.

Doesn't seem like chips or cookies would go down that easily. I was thinking more like liquidy foods like ice cream, jello or pudding. So i guess its things that you have a hard time stopping and may over eat. I try to stay away from the really addicting things I have a hard time controling portion sizes when I eat them. Yesterday, however, I had made a cheese ball made of cream cheese and feta cheese mixed and I just couldn't stop eating it. I noticed too that I had no restrition. My tummy never sent me a signal at all. That did not make me feel good at all.

I need some new ideas for my food planning. I am tired of eating tuna, fish, hummus, cottage cheese. Anyone have some good food suggestions. I am on regular food. Been doing shake for Breakfast, hummus for mid morn snack, tuna for lunch, and Gordon's tilapia or salmon for dinner and cottage cheese for second snack.

Bored with food choices!
Runner1 replied to Runner1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks all. These are very helpful. Another problem I have is I don't like a lot of things. Such as eggs, crab, sardines, and spam. I have been doing avocados, salmon, hummus, tuna and cheese. Love cheese, and think I over eat the cheeses. I did do the PB in my shake and found I couldn't drink it all, because I was full pretty quick. -
I am 6 week post-op and am hungry all the tine too. I may try doing the peanut butter in my shakes to see if that helps. Today has been really hard, since I'm cooking for Thanksgiving and around all the food.

Bored with food choices!

That does sound yummy. I will have to try that. I have made and froze chili and a few other things. It is very helpful, although my freezer doesn't allow me to freeze a lot of stuff. Guess I just need to get more creative. -
Am looking for buddies that use myfitnesspal. Looking for accountability and helpful tips to help me stay on track. If you are interested you can send a friends request to judyrhino2. Thanks!

I have not heard of fitpal. Is it the same as Myfitnesspal? I am also interested.

I am on the floor in pain in my shoulder area. This has been going on since my surgery, but not to this degree. I have read that the gas in the shoulder is normal. I dont think this is gas. It is a severe burning pain, that esculates as I swallow and feels as if it is following the food all the way down to the stomach. I stopped eating immediately in fear it would get worst. Totally lost my appetite. Anyone else having this problem? I'm about to go to the ER if it doesn't stop soon.

Went in for doctor's visit and he is recommending a Cat Scan to make sure there isn't Fluid build up on the outside of my stomach. I am hoping all is okay.

What an amazing transformation. You look truly beautiful!

Surgery was 11/16 - When do the morning dry heaves stop?
Runner1 replied to HopeandAgony's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You need to make sure you are drinking the required amount. You do not want to continue to dry heave, since this can be damaging to your esophagus and your sleeve. Did you doctor give you any anti-nausea medication? I had a patch from before my surgery to prevent me from getting sick and dry heaving. I would notify my doctor and ask for some to stop that. -
Where to buy a stomach support and compression clothes
Runner1 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I tried to jog on treadmill but felt I needed more support about my stomach area and thighs. Anyone know where I can buy a girdle or compression clothes? -
Has anyone experienced stomach spasms? I was doing a spirometer assignment where I had to inhale and blow out really hard. Immediately on the blowing out part I felt a terrible spasm in my stomach to the point I had to sit down. Is this normal? It felt like I had deflated my stomach and that the walls were stucked together. for about 5 minutes. Needless to say, I stopped participating in the assignment immediately. Anyone else have this happen?

Happy (belated) Birthday Elode! Where are you?
Runner1 replied to jane13's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Happy Birthday Elode!! Looks like you had a very busy birthday, and wow what treats you received. You did good not eating much of them. Desserts are my weakness. -
Thanks for everyones concern. I did go in and they did a leak test and said I do not have a leak. They said my shoulder pain is caused from gas. I do not think it is gas, but am satisfied that it isnt a leak. I still have the pain, but not to the degree I had it before. From what I have found out on the internet it has to do with eating too fast or eating too much. Still no real answers. Just hoping it does not happen again.
-
@@NoMoreFatGuy What other symptoms did you have. My pain went away after I stopped eating. I googled and discovered there many people that have had this same problem, It is due to eating too fast or too much, which causes the diaphram to expand causing pain in the shoulder area. At least this is what I found on the internet. My doctor is telling me its just gas pain, but it was not anything like I ever experienced before. I pray it never returns.

How soon after surgery did you start running? I am only 5 weeks post op, but ran prior to surgery and am missing it. Hoping to be able to run soon.

I'm 55 and sleeved on October 8th. My only regret is that I didn't do it sooner. I'm down 37 pounds with 36 pounds to go, and I know I will reach my goal this time. I can't wait to have my blood work done to see if my numbers have improved. I am hoping that I wont have too much saggy skin. 50 is the new 30. So I'm really only 35 and feeling pretty good!
