    Out of pocket expense

I paid my Dr his portion week before surgery and the hospital gave me total day before and they took credit card or check upon registration at hospital. The amount wasn't exact but close. After claim was paid they billed me the balance which was approximately $100. Sent from my H1611 using Tapatalk

    Insurance exclusion

Some employers will exclude if they have the option but it is my understanding so states don't allow for the exclusion. Sent from my Z958 using Tapatalk

    Insurance exclusion

Yes, unfortunately your out of luck. My employer policy has exclusion for wls and plastic surgery no matter the reason. Your only option is cash pay in the states or Mexico or some surgeon's will do it at a reduced rate if you have a Hernia that is covered by insurance. Sent from my Z958 using Tapatalk

Question for sleevers with a start of 350 +

My weight loss is as follows, no pre-op diet was require by my surgeon,. SW 361 Month1 -34 Month 2 -20 Month 3 - 20 Month 4 - 11 Month 5 - 17 Total after 9 1/2 Months - 150lbs I don't get much exercise in except for some walking and occasional trip to the gym but my job keeps me going on my feet and active 10-12 hours a day so a little saving grace for me. My spouse and daughter do there own thing for meals and I usually just prepare my own meals to make sure I stay on track. I think it will be a lot easy if your spouse does this with you since you will both have the same goal and understand the do's and don't of the program. Some spouses while they try to be supportive just don't understand the program completely and innocently do harm with temptations such as "you can have small piece of this or that, it's chicken" but in reality it is a piece of fried chicken cutlet for example. 6. Word of caution try not go by total carbs not net carbs, research online shows net carbs is based on formula from food companies. Much debate about subject on line. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

    Well- definitely NOT covered

Yes, I was really surprised to see they don't cover speech therapy for kids. My husband started with the company back in July. He's the #2 guy there, right behind the COO, and believe me, I will be all over this once he is further settled in...companies can choose what they want covered, or, in this case, not. I'm not happy with this... Yes, companies have the choice on what exclusions to be added to the policy, unfortunately with the skyrocketing policy costs (especially with the implementation of ObamaCare) they have been forced to add more exclusions, higher co-pays and deductible just to offer reasonable cost coverage that won't affect their bottom line. With that said some companies will offer a different tier coverage for upper management. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
  8. I was similar where I got tied of the Protein shakes right around 3 months. I use the pure protein 1.76 oz bars as a meal usually Breakfast. I buy the 18-count variety pack at Sam's club but you also find them @ Walmart. Never had a problem with them, just took small bites and chewed well. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
  9. Try using a app to track your meals, it will help keep track of your calories, Protein and Water. It should definitely help you get back on track. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
  10. Good luck on your journey, the 10 day pre-op diet will be the hardest part and perhaps a few days of discomfort proceeding surgery after that it should be up hill from there. I'm ' 9 months and haven't looked back. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
  11. I was trying to explain since you asked "why wouldn't I???" I gave the info because this is why I wouldn't. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
  12. High Carbs(30g) and sugar(19g) and only about 1g of Protein. As much as I like them they wouldn't be my first choice. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
  13. I think you should do what your surgeon says. DS requirements are different than RNY and VSG. For one thing, you malabsorb fat so you need more calories than we do. Doing exactly what my surgeon says except for the few times I slacked off, btw I had vsg. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
  14. 27lbs in 6 wwwks isn't terrible but could probably be improved upon. Try to limit calories to 800-900,, IMO I would limits one Protein shake or bar to breakfast and 4-5 oz(perhaps a little less since your only 6 weeks out) of protein for lunch and dinner. Can't go wrong with chicken or fish, some beef here and there will do also. Try this for a week and see how you make out. I have been doing this for 9 months and I'm down 145 lbs. My loss has been pretty consistent except some weeks I slacked off and consumed too many carbs from processed pre packaged food . Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

    Any good comebacks?

This is why I chose to tell no one except for my wife of course. Most people that say stuff like this thinks it some sort of magic not realizing alot of hard work is still involved and just as easy the weight come off it could come back on just as easy if your reckless with your food choices and grazing all through the day. 19. I would be good either way just known I felt I hired the best qualified candidate. I have hired a few people in the past that arranged to take a week off soon after starting for a vacation that had been planned months earlier before deciding to switch employers. It happens honesty is the best policy. Good luck with surgery and new job. Sent from my Nexus 6 using the BariatricPal App
  20. I considered my self fairly lucky, a little pain the first night, once I got home I had to get used to sleeping on my back because sleeping on my side would bother me. I was able to get my fluids down fairly easy just building up QTY day by day. I returned to working 10-11 shift 6 days post-op. Only other issue was some constipation for a few weeks afterwards. I still get constipated now every once in a while but it's really only once in a while and not nearly as bad. Sent from my Nexus 6 using the BariatricPal App

  22. What I found to always watch for when using in-network providers. They like to request payment based on there billing amount rather based on the fee schedule they agreed upon with the insurance company. Sent from my Nexus 6 using the BariatricPal App

  24. I was the same way right after surgery, I preferred the CL after surgery till around 10 weeks, at that point I switched to water because I just didn't like it or got tied of it. Since then it's been the water and just had a glass of CL on a couple of occasions. Sent from my Nexus 6 using the BariatricPal App
