  1. I prefer the popsicle brand, juicier in my opinion compared to the first no-one brand my wife initially picked up for me.

    Almost a month out

I try to only weigh myself once per week or else I may go crazy with fluctuations. Try not to go crazy with such small changes, it can simply be additional water weigh your currently holding. Keep in mind a 64oz of water weighs a slightly over 4lbs.

    10 week post op hunger

Most of the time I just sip on my sugar free ice tea or lemonade, this will subside the hunger usually if not my goto on occasion will be a popsicle
  4. Definitely understand the second thoughts especially after the "failed" First attempt, but in reality seems to be a blessing in disguise. As for the second guessing because of the recent "looking good" perfectly understandable considering weeks of post-op dieting. But the reality is based on years of dieting by many of us is the weight will be gained back in short time frame and your be back where you started. I would stay on track but it's ultimately your decision and need to be comfortable with it.

    1st time posting...surgery in 5 days!

Best of luck, I'm right before you on the 24th.
  8. My understanding is true results is more of a referral service they probably had to send it out to the surgeons office for clearance, I believe(could be wrong) they use Peachtree Bariatrics in Atlanta.
  9. What a roller coaster it has been the last 4-5 weeks. Long story short I looked into wls 2 years ago and dismissed the idea when I found out my insurance excluded wls. Well fast forward 2 years and I could tell my weight was taking a toll on me and knew it was just a matter of time before I had serious medical issues. Before I went on vacation at the end of September I started kicking around the idea. Well soon after returning from vacation I decided I wanted to pursue it again. In the the last 4 weeks I looked into different options, self pay costs, going to Mexico???, spoke to a few Bariatric groups, selected a surgeon, had egd and various other tests performed, diagnosed with hiatal hernia and set date. Date set for 11/24 and now doing some post-op shopping for protein powder, vitamins and such. While I'm a little nervous not know what the first few week after surgery has in store at the same time I can't wait for the next week to past.

    No hiatal hernia :(

I spoke to true results a few months ago and posed this question to them because I didn't think I had a hiatal hernia(turns out I did) and there only other option was self pay and partial financing. I ended up going to another surgeon (where they found the hernia) because true results in Atlanta sends you to Dallas for the surgery.
  11. My surgeon doesn't require one , but it appears many do.

    Too big to fly?

I think you will need 2 seats or perhaps a business class seat. The last time I flew I was about 330, sane height and I wedged my self in with belt extender. This was 6-7 years ago and this have definitely gotten smaller in the airline industry. Also the planes are a lot fuller with less chance of a empty seat next to you.
  13. check out Dr Thomas Borland, he is located in Louisiana and his self pay price is one of the lowest I have seen in the U. S. If you do a search on the forum you should come across a couple of people that used him with favorable reviews.

    Insurance exclusions

There are surgeons that will do the Hernia repair under your insurance coverage and offer to the sleeve at the same time as the Hernia repair at a reduced rate. While there is still a cost to you it is cheaper than the self pay price.
  15. Yes, my company doesn't pay for that option hence the excluded coverage with the last 2 insurance companies we had, I even thought about going on my wife's policy from employee but found there policy have the coverage excluded. I'm not looking at different self pay options.
