    Popsicles

Still on popsicles and I like them, good snack just make sure there sugar free. Pre-op when I got home from work in early morning hours I used to have a sandwich before going good to sleep now I have a popsicle. Sent from my Nexus 6 using the BariatricPal App
  3. Don't fear it gets better and you just need to try to in increase your sip sizes daily. I think back when I started out sipping from a medicine bottle cap after surgery and 8 months later I can do 80-90 oz's in a day easily. Sent from my Nexus 6 using the BariatricPal App

Any men doing this besides me.? Lol

Stay strong and with it. I was in a similar situation and blew it off due financial/ insurance exclusion issues . I'm 8 months post op and down 131 pounds since surgery, my biggest regret till this day is I waited 2 years. One think that helped me is my surgeon didn't have a pre-op diet requirements except the day before and after surgery I didn't feel like having solids(not that I was allowed right away) and liquids were challenging enough proceding surgery. Seeing the weight loss made it easier and in the right mind set. I'm 8 months out now and allow myself a few carbs here and there but really concentrate on the Protein and Water. If I do have a meal with some carbs then I try do all protein for my other meals that day and next. Sent from my Nexus 6 using the BariatricPal App

    "Just 62 pounds?"

Yes, a lot of surgeon's probably could use better bedside manners but they have also learned that sugar coating doesn't really get the message across most the time. 62 lbs is not necessarily a failure but depending on your starting weight I would imagine at 6 months 80 to 120 lbs would be in the ball park of expected weight loss unless you were a low bmi where I would think 62 lbs is perfectly acceptable. My new beginning is OVER [emoji22]

That's great new, do all you can to get surgery by end of month, definitely a good suggestion above with care credit. Heck even if you can put it on a credit card. You definitely won't regret it. I originally looked into the surgery 2 years prior than when I had it done and got deterred due to exclusion on insurance policy, 2 years later I found an affordable self pay solution due to Hernia I had. Now my only regret is I did get it done sooner. 6 months post op and down 122 lbs. Sent from my Nexus 6 using the BariatricPal App

So close, yet sooo far away!

It's all up to individual DR and there schedule and pre-surgery diet requirements. Some can schedule you in a week or two and some are one or two months. Sent from my Nexus 6 using the BariatricPal App

My new beginning is OVER [emoji22]

Was it even possible to get approved, doesn't BCBS require 4 or 6 months of weigh-ins. It's great if your policy doesn't but just be careful because some will say your approved but forget to say pending meeting the policy requirements. Sent from my Nexus 6 using the BariatricPal App

  12. Not a problem after the first month or two. I take my Water bottle every where. I have a nice 15 mile drive to work and I usually can do 20 oz each way. Sent from my Nexus 6 using the BariatricPal App

    Bouncing

Definitely try to not weigh yourself more than once a week for the first 5 months I weighted myself every Monday morning. Recently I started weighing myself more often and it's really just a roller coaster through the week. Enough to make me crazy when I went up overnight, in the end by the time Monday rolls around I'm usually showing a lose for the week (every once in a while I stayed the same). Status at 5 mos post gp

At 5 months I was down 101 pounds from surgical weight of 361. I'm currently at 250. With that said you loose a little faster way you start at a higher weight. I think your about where you should be or close to it for your starting weight. Sent from my Nexus 6 using the BariatricPal App

    Protein bars?

Pure Protein for me, I pick up the variety pack at Walmart or Sam. They have a chocolate delight, chocolate Peanut Butter and the Chocolate peanut butter caramel which is my favorite. I have tried the Premier Protein as well which I think is similar to the pure protein.. Sent from my Nexus 6 using the BariatricPal App
  16. I'm 5 months post op and down a little over 100 lbs and feeling great. Just trying to get an general idea how long before the incisions become a little less noticeable. They have faded slightly but still very noticeable (especially the larger ones) if I was to take my shirt off at the pool. My surgeon ended up using staples because the skin was pulling to much which I think made it that much worse since I also have staple holes along side the incisions. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Picture attached of the worse ones.

  18. Sorry to hear about your situation but it's an exclusion so you won't have a chance to appeal because it's not a benifit on your policy. Many employers optout of the coverage (if state law allows) to save money, I think a lot of insurance companies put the enclosing in with out the employer relizing it. Some doctors offer a substantial discount if you have a hernia that's needs requires surgery or look into the Mexico option. Another option is to see if any policies on the health care exchange offer coverage.

    T-minus 2hr to surgery

Just think of what your working towards and where you will be in a few months. Very common to be nervous but definitely worth the outcome. Best decision I ever made. Sent from my Nexus 6 using the BariatricPal App

    Time off

Had surgery on Tuesday and back at work on Monday, work at a desk but I Supervisor 25 people so I'm up and down during the 10 hour shift, first 2-3 days were tiring but after that I got into the swing of things. Sent from my Nexus 6 using the BariatricPal App
