$23,000 is twice what I paid and I wasn't required to 'weigh' a certain amount since I paid cash for the surgery.

Which Food Did (Or Will) You Miss the Most?
LetItGo replied to Alex Brecher's topic in Food and Nutrition
I miss Spicy Pad Thai, bread, rice and Pasta. Pasta, fish and Vitamins make me vomit. I can eat crispy bread a little at a time. I haven't even tried rice or rice noodles. I miss cheeseburgers. Just not the same without the bun. I miss beer. I'm 3 pounds from goal and 8 months out. I drink a lot of coffee, eat Protein bars, cheese, meat and occasionally crackers, nuts or popcorn. I love salad and baked potatoes (white or sweet). It's a different life, but I have no regrets! -
It definitely made me realize how much of my life revolved around FOOD!!! I miss food. I miss the social aspects of FOOD. I miss the taste of FOOD as nothing tastes the same for me anymore. I'm 7 months out. Tonight I ate the toppings off of two pieces of pizza. I was just in the kitchen trying to explain to my husband that the 'goop' that I just ate out of a bowl was nothing like the two pieces of pizza he just consumed. I don't think he'll ever understand what it's like for me now. Don't get me wrong...I love that I have lost 64 pounds in less than 7 months. I love that I wear a size 4 and I feel great at 52 years old. I love that I am going to be around for a long time since I have a 12 year old son to raise. I love being in front of the camera again, instead of always hiding behind the lens. But I definitely have my moments when I wish I could just eat like a normal person and have a few cocktails like a normal person. But then again, that's how I got up to 200lbs. There are definitely sacrifices to make when you have this surgery. I'm thinking about counseling at this point. Hoping it will get me past some of these thoughts and feelings. And the last thing...my husband and I have only had sex ONCE in the past 7 months. I can't explain it...he loves me and desires me but I just don't want any part of it. Yes, I've got to get some counseling...gonna make that call on Tuesday. Thanks for letting me vent in your thread. Best of luck to you!

The wonderous Impacted feces
LetItGo replied to sanjumelts's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just bought one. 5 months of constipation, bleeding and hemorrhoids is about to kill me!!! -
I ended up having to use the Vitamin Patches that are sold on this site. I use the mulitvitamin and the B12. Anything chewable made me projectile vomit.

This happened to me last week. Just out of the blue. Felt fine, got up, showered, had a few sips of diet gatorade and then all of a sudden I got hot and dizzy and very nauseous. Vomited twice and then I felt better, but still a little off all day. I rested and was fine the next day but I would hate for that to happen in public!! Ugh... Hope you are feeling better!

Deciding the Sleeve
LetItGo replied to Isabel2point0's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have heard that more people have been successful with the sleeve. This is not scientific info but I think you lose quicker and have a better chance of keeping it off without complications. My friends that have had the lap band have tended to gain their weight back. I had the sleeve in early November and I have lost 60 pounds. Bought a size 4 jeans this weekend. 10 pounds to goal. I'm 52 years old and couldn't be happier! Good luck to you! You will do the right thing for you! Ask a lot of questions and talk to your doctor and your Nutritionist. -
I had my first salad yesterday and I am 5 months out. Just sit back and enjoy the ride. It's a slow one for sure!!

4 days post sleeve and...
LetItGo replied to AJKMMC15's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was VERY sensitive to smells and tastes in the beginning. BUT...it does get better. A little at a time, you will notice that smells aren't so bad and your tastes will totally return to normal! Hang in there!! I'm 4 months out. -

The chewable Vitamins made me projectile vomit within 5 minutes of taking them. They went in the trash!! I know use the patch MD Multivitamin Patches and the B12 Patches. They sell them on Amazon.com and here in the Bariatric Pal Store. Good luck!

Need Eating Advice from the Guru members!
LetItGo posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is a typical day of eating for me. What am I doing wrong or what could I be doing better? I drink G2 all day long, probably 32 ounces per day. 90 calories (I cannot drink plain Water, makes me gag) For Breakfast, I either eat 4 club crackers, or a piece of bacon or Cheerios with Fairlife milk and Truvia. I cannot tolerate eggs or oatmeal. For lunch, I sometimes have Soup. Other times I have a few bites of chicken and vegetables. I snack on nuts and Protein bars or crackers. I drink one 30 g Protein shake each afternoon. For dinner, usually a few bites of meat and cheese. Last night I had one roasted chicken wing with no skin and one bite of pepperoni/mushroom pizza. I drink G2 until bedtime. I take Crestor for high cholesterol and Zantac for heartburn. On Fitness Pal, I rarely get over 800 calories. I'm 3 months out and I've lost 44 pounds. I've been at 156 for over a week. Not doing any regular exercise aside from having a full time job, a 12 year old son, husband and two dogs. I'm sad that my losing has slowed down so much. I was losing 2-3 pounds per week in the first few months. I think I know what grazing is now and I believe that I am doing it. Like I just ate 2 crackers. In a few minutes I'll probably eat some nuts. A little later this morning I might eat part of a Protein Bar. I am drinking G2 in between these little Snacks. Is this wrong? -

I think my philosophy has been that eating 4 crackers is better than not eating anything at all. If I can't get meat to go down and stay down, what is the point? At least crackers and nuts stay down. I didn't grow up eating broccoli, cauliflower, Greek yogurt, oatmeal, etc...so why would I start eating that stuff now? It's bad enough that I can't stomach plain chicken, but if I tried to force down some broccoli....oh Lord! I'm averaging about 50 grams of Protein per day. And I am getting in all of my fluids with G2 and shakes. -
I was sleeved three months ago. I can eat about three small bites of pintos and maybe one bite of a taco and I am full. There is NO WAY I could eat Pintos n cheese, a taco and potatoes.
