Thanks Brad, think I'll pass. I am a Christian, but don't need any Holy Rollers on me.:scared2:

Anyone else dealing with other people comments
Ceradad replied to Meme1504's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm sorry for the poorly thought out comments you are getting. I can honestly say I have heard very little from friends and coworkers (I told everyone I was having the surgery). Of course, they all know how much hard work I have put in at the gym, because I tell them about that as well. The only poor comments I hear really are said about one of my officers that had the lapband about 2 1/2 yrs before me. He has lost nowhere near the amount of weight I have. I refuse to bad mouth him and his journey, we are all different. The only thing I ever say is that he does not appear to put in any time in the gym. Also, I hear about his poor eating habits. People seem to think it is a competition btwn us. I do not. I only deal with myself and how I am doing. Sidenote: I will confess when he got his lapband, I was one that said he was taking the easy way out. I had never heard of the lapband and knew nothing about it. I made an assumption. That may be why I choose to educate everyone I know. -
Ok, I just added another 3.1 mile run in less than 30 minutes followed by minute cooldown. Difference this time was I paused the treadmill every 1/2 mile to drop to the floor and do 20 pushups. Nothing earth shattering, but it made it different. Thought I would have to drop the number of pushups each time I paused, but never happened. Next time I try this I'll try for 25 pushups.:scared2:

Same take as mine g4e. It annoys me when people go off "holier than thou" on the world. I am not perfect, and will not tell others how to live their lives. Except for DD.

I learned a long time ago to try not getting sucked in on political threads. Not just here, on any message board. Too many think they are the only right one and noone else has a clue. I prefer to try to get along with everyone and not to preach to others about what I believe to be true too much. As the old saying goes: you can get more with honey than you can with vinegar.

Good. I'm not the only one whose head that went over.

Thanks all. It's as much for DW as for me. She is not overly enthused about this life style change for me. And, because it is for me, it will affect her greatly. Most likely more than me. So, keep her in your prayers/thoughts as well.

PJTP~ May be having a major change in my life w/i the next couple of months. No additions to the family or changes in family structure. Can't say what right now as I don't want to have the whole thing fall through. However, if you are a praying person, I could use all the prayers I can get on this. One way or the other, any prayers to help me find the correct course of action that God intends for me right now in my life. It would be greatly appreciated. If not a praying person, just good thought then would be appreciated. This is something that I have been mulling over for a LONG time now. I need all the support I can get. Thanks.

Hope you feel better soon lulu. At least the Iggles lost yesterday.:wink5: Nice to see you back with us "slackers" whosya.:w00t: As for me, Thursday p.m. was upper body workout. Felt like shit. Weekend was "guys weekend". Waaaaaaaay too many "beverages" Friday and Saturday night.:ihih:. Back at it this morning and upper body workout was alot better than last weeks. Oh well. Did 1 mile run afterwards. Working a double today. May be able to get in a small cardio workout sometime today. We'll see.

Having seen your recent pics, who could blame them? Now, while buying an ept test may be pushing the limits of good taste, I'll admit. But, that is assuming any man has common sense around hot women.

Start of a new month and start of a new exercise challenge. How about getting some more new faces involved? I started off things right. In the work gym @ 0440 for 33 minutes on treadmill, including 5k run in just under 29 minutes. Into the real gym tonight for upper body and a little more cardio. LET'S GET IT ON!

This is the coldest in 5 yrs here in MN. From about mid Dec until mid Feb., we tend to go below 0. Just not this far below. But, trust me, it gets darn cold in the plains and Great Lakes areas. Thanks for the heads up lulu. Hope it gets better. Hernia is bad enough by itself from what I hear.

Not sure how "bless your heart" is an insult, but I will believe you that it is considered so. I try with proper grammar. As for the "everywhere" comment, you can take it wherever you like. Yes, you can continue to discuss my body. It is a beautiful thing to behold. Not saying I necessarily agree with the law, just telling the justification used behind it. To me, anything south of Iowa is the south. If you are complaining that 60 is cold, you are in the south.

I stand by my quote. As for the car running with keys in it, that is to take away the temptation to steal from others with less self control.

That's why I tell people I have my "sweater" permanently attached. Of course, it covers EVERYWHERE

Temp gauge on SUV this morning read -30 @ 0400. That is not WC, it is air temp. Why do people live up here? And there are people who live farther north than I. PJTP~tomorrow is my annual "ice fishing" trip with the guys. As you can tell by the quotation marks, not much fishing takes place. We rent a cabin on the lake shore and an ice house on the lake about 4 miles south of a casino. Friday night is buffet (not really worth it for me anymore but it is tradition) followed by blackjack at the casino. Then, back to the cabin for cards and "beverages" until about 0500 Saturday morning. Sleep for about 4 hrs and then back at it. Some will actually go on the ice for about 4-5 hrs. Then, Saturday night is a "gentlemens" establishment for some "entertainment". Been looking forward to this for, ohhhh, about 11 mos.

Later on yesterday, ran 1.5 miles in 13:15 then a 7 minute cooldown. This put me @ goal for the week. Followed that with 15 minutes on elliptical. No lifting last night. This morning was 35 minutes on elliptical followed by 1 mile/10 minute jog with a 4 minute cooldown. Tonight will be upper body workout with some cardio afterwards.

Did not get into gym last night for leg workout due to problem at home with garage door not closing. Of course, by the time I made it home, it was fixed. By then, I did not have the mindset. This morning, 35 minutes on elliptical. Followed up with 11 minute/1.25 mile run and then 5 minute cooldown. I'll get up again today for another 35 minutes of cardio.

I ask myself that every damn year. Then, I remember I married a MN woman who wants to be around her family. I have heard of this before. The tv show "Scrubs" even mentioned it one time to a patient that was too big for their MRI. Well, we did get 6" of snow on Monday and another 2" last night. To top it off, -8 this morning and the next 2 nights are to approach -20 again with WC around -35 to -40.
-
Want cold? Last night got to -20. High today was -5. Next few days are the same.
-
Could be and I just misread it. That is the way I look at it. I followed pretty closely to what the instructions were. I didn't eat anything for the first 5 days. The next were kind of hard and I cheated with a cherry tomato once and something else small once. Never even considered a hamburger and fries as something to eat. Once I went on the whole liquids and especially mushies, I would good to go.
-
Same here. I cannot reply to them. Alot of people cheat, but only a little. (Confession time: I cheated a little post op. But, only small items once or twice. I knew it was wrong and did not go looking for someone to tell me it was ok). The ones that eat a full meal afterwards kill me. The post that got me was the bottom one on the first page. Poster said "most bandsters have had one or two slippages". WTH? Where did she get that. I've been on here for well over a yr and have only read about one or two slippages.
-
tap-same here. Had 6" of snow last night. Supposed to get 2-4" again tonight. Hopefully, it will not start until after 3 pm so traffic isn't as bad as it was yesterday goin home:cursing:.
