Back from a long weekend off. No exercise from Friday through Sunday for my "guys" weekend. Yesterday, got back in the flow of it with 45 minutes of upper body supersets with pushups in btwn. Followed that up with 25 minutes on elliptical/25 minutes on treadmill/25 minutes on elliptical. This morning, I did 2.25 miles on the treadmill followed by 10 min. cooldown. Then, 20 minutes on elliptical. Later will be more cardio and leg workout. Needed the time off, but it's good to be back in the flow.

No treadmill today, my lower back has been letting me know that 2-3 wks straight of running is not what it wants. So, did 45 minutes on elliptical, pausing every 10 minutes to pump out 25 pushups. Btwn that and some before and after, I'm to 225 pushups already today. Tonight will be upper body and a little more cardio. Nothing this weekend as it is my 2nd "guys" weekend. Gotta take some time off:tt2:

Got in another 1 mile jog in 10 minutes with incline ranging from 1.5-3%, 10 minute cooldown followed by 15 minutes on elliptical.

No legs last night:cursing:. Way too tired. This morning: 2 miles/1% incl/18:40/10 minute cooldown. Followed that with 20 minutes on elliptical.

froggy, don't worry about running the whole way. The important thing is that you are doing it. I signed up for my first one last April just because my brother in law was doing it. I made it almost the whole way running. As for th C25k program, I never did that. I simply hopped on the treadmill and tried to push myself just a little further each time I was on it. For me, that works best.

Just wrapped up another session of cardio. Did what I believe are called "ladders" on the treadmill. Not sure if I had it right or that is what I did is actually called, but here is what I did: Min. 1: 6 mph/1% incl Min. 2: 7 mph/1% incl Min. 3: 6 mph/1 % incl Min. 4: 8 mph/1% Min. 5: 6 mph/1% Min. 6: 9 mph/1% Min. 7: 6 mph/1% Min. 8: 10 mph/1%-this one KILLED me. I barely made the 1 minute sprint. Min. 9: 6 mph/0 incl Min. 10: 7 mph/1% incl Jogged at 6 mph for :49 to get to 1.25 miles. Then, 10 minute cooldown. Followed that with 20 minutes on elliptical. Still got legs tonight.

Last night was upper body. I switched from circuit training to supersets. Last night was "light" weights with 15 reps per exercise per superset. In all, I did 12 supersets. I added in something new last night. After each SS, I did 10 pushups touching my chest to the ground each time. At least, after the first 10 SS. The last two, I could only get 7 & 8 pushups respectively. Followed that with 25 minutes on elliptical. This morning was 2 miles @ 1% incline in 20 minutes. 10 minute cooldown followed by 23 minutes on elliptical. Later, I'll try to get in some more cardio. Tonight will be legs and maybe a little more cardio.

We'll see.:cursing: As you can see in my auto sig, I am 1 wk ahead of my goal of 10 miles/wk. Knees are holding up GREAT!

This morning, 2 miles on treadmill in 16:36 with incline ranging btwn 0-1% about every .15-.25 miles. 5 minute cooldown and then on to the elliptical for 25 minutes including another 5 min. cooldown. Back at it later today for about another 35 minutes.

Yesterday, nice slow 6 mph for 1/2 hr. 3 miles. This morning, 2 mile run in 17:10 with incline ranging from .5% to 2 %. Thought that was pretty good until I saw Jachut's. Tonight will be upper body super sets and a little more cardio.

Not to offend too much, but are you kidding me? Everyone here had weight issues prior to our surgeries. Thus, we had the surgeries. We didn't start off at the pace we are at now, we worked our way up to it. I have been diagnosed with arthritis in both knees and have been told I will need replacement surgery. This was 3 yrs ago at the age of 35. The surgeon wanted me to get another 20 yrs out of the original parts before he really wanted to consider doing that though. So, after the lap band surgery, I started off walking on the treadmill slowly and for only about 20 minutes or so. My knees would KILL me. Now, I can run for an hour and cover 6 miles on the treadmill w/o my knees hurting that much. We are not on here trying to brag about how "great" we are. The question was asked how often do we exercise. We answered. Sorry if I offended.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. TQUAD, I wouldn't be too rough on your son. When I was a teen, I wouldn't haven't been too keen on the idea of hanging around my mom if she had done this then. I'm 38 now and can appreciate the fact she was there for all my injuries/surgeries. Plus, the fact that I have been through so many injuries, I was able to tell let her know what she was going through for pain and how to deal with it was normal. Seemed to make a difference. Of course, I'm paying for it now trying to get caught up at work. Off to the gym again for some self torture.

Been off the board for a week now. My mom broke her leg down in IA and I went down from Saturday until Wed to help her out as she has never broken a bone in her body and I have. So, to update: Friday: Hit the chiropractor before I found out about my mom. Not able to work out. Saturday and Sunday: In IA helping out mom. Forgot running shoes so had to buy some new ones on Sunday. Monday: Hit the Golds Gym in W. Des Moines in the am for upper body and cardio. Ran 2 miles/18:17 minutes after the workout and 35 minutes on elliptical. Went back in the pm to do another 2 miles/20 minutes and 35 minutes on elliptical. Tuesday: Went in the pm for leg workout and cardio. 2.5 mile/25 minute run followed by 35 minutes on elliptical. Wed: nothing, drove back home. Thurs: am-legs really sore due to not lifting w/legs for about 2 wks. Managed 35 minutes on ellilptical and 1.25 mile/12 minute run on treadmill. Then, SWAT training during the day, no lifting. Today: 4.25 mile/41:30 minute run followed by 15 minutes on elliptical. Into the gym tonight for upper body.

Tap-never, EVER, compare yourself to someone else. Use them for inspiration, yes. But don't compare to them. You have to remember, I am a police officer on a SWAT team. My job demands I be in better shape than most. Plus, I am looking at a change in my life (can't go into it right now) that I am using as my inspiration. Just keep at it. You'll get there.

You gotta take it slow and easy or you will make yourself worse. Make it worse and you definately will be backsliding. Today a.m.-ran on treadmill for 16.5 minute/1.65 miles alternating incline btwn .5 and 2%. Followed with cooldown and then on to the elliptical for 35 minutes. Tonight will be upper body. Thinking of switching it up and doing supersets for awhile.

Back @ it again on the treadmill. Added 20 minute/2 mile run with 5 minute cooldown. Did the same thing as Mondays second run. Before the run, I dropped and did 25 pushups. Then, paused the machine every 1/2 mile to do pushups. After half mile, did another 25. Every half mile after that was 20 pushups including at the end.

Was wondering the same thing last night. I can see where Jillians team would want to keep Joelle around to create chaos amongst Bob's team. All I know is, so much for no drama this season. Bob's team is going to be out for blood. They are going to feel betrayed by Jillians team after they asked Bobs team who they wanted voted out.

Yesterday-nothing. Guys weekend and 16 hours on Monday finally caught up to me. AM today-2.25 mile run in 20 minutes. Tried pushing myself for a 2 mile run and made it in 17:43. Did 30 minutes on elliptical afterwards w/5 minute cooldown. I'll try to get another 2-2.5 miles in later today.
