I want to eat everything
Louise Binzel replied to cookies_queen's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That last weekend before I had to go on clear liquids... The plan was Chinese one night, Thai another and one big, fat, juicy burger with fries another. I had a horrible reaction to some home grown tomatoes... Bad case of acid reflux. Some genius at the ER wrote down chest pain and BOOM! I was kept three days and two nights for observation on the heart ward.... Low fat, low salt, low sugar diet! So much for my plan.... Oh well... I can have Chinese soup, fried rice, Thai dishes without meat.... That's where I am now. What amazes me is how little food I eat now. Amazing, and I'm comfortable. My taste buds would like more, but the rest of me is fine. I can also feel the full switch now, unless I scarf food. Don't scarf food. Take my word on that. Best wishes for a speedy recovery! ... Then enjoy your clothes getting baggy.... -
It would more likely be a lack of pooping. Not being crass, just reality. Weight yourself after a BM.

It will come off. I am nine weeks post op and have lost 40 pounds. Of course, I was large. I wore 3x-4x. I'm almost fully into 2x now. The other thing that can make your weight higher is that your bowels might be full. Weight after you have had a BM and you will have happier news. -
Pain and bulge under incision site
Louise Binzel replied to Knitchic's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the gastric sleeve plus a hiatal hernia fixed. I am nine weeks out. Yes, there was swollen tissue beneath the incision site. Most no longer have it now, one or two have the slightest thickness to them still. It is much less than before. You are going to have good days and bad days, but as the weight comes off, just focus on that and celebrate it! I visit thrift stores to find my in between clothes. I have already dropped a bras size and had to get new underpants. I am losing about 6 pounds a week. I am at 40 pounds lost. You will get there too. As you start taking in food that is more solid, you will occasionally vomit. This is called early dumping. It's ok. Don't eat something new around others just as a precaution. The strange part is that it will be encased in a slime like liquid with high viscosity. To many this is weird, but it is normal. Your body has deemed it a problem, sent out cells to encase it and jettison the problem out. Sometimes there will be foam. Don't ask, I can't explain it. It's normal for those of us that had gastric surgeries. Even two years out you will occasionally have a foamy. Not sure why. I'm even in a pattern where I vomit once every other day. It is what it is. Like I said, just focus on the wonders of the weight loss. That is worth all the rest. -
GasX and Post-Op Gas
Louise Binzel replied to toasty's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@gpmed yes, it is weeks before you can add fiber. Once you can, do. One friend of mine told me he was so constipated that it was like giving birth and it came with a lot of blood. It scared him into buying high fiber, low sugar bars. He suggests two a day. -
GasX and Post-Op Gas
Louise Binzel replied to toasty's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am nine weeks post op. I burped far more than I farted. They are overjoyed when you fart. It's crazy how happy they get. The reason? It means everything is in working order. Don't fear gas. Let your body do it's thing. -
Things I hate about being skinny
Louise Binzel replied to micmt's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Too funny. I am nine weeks out. Yes, I am cooler than I was and my rear hurts more often... On the up side, I have lost 40 pounds and am down a size and a half in shirts....almost a full size in pants. I'm off the stupid CPAP, off the recent meds... Yay!
