I'm post op day 11. My surgeon/program calls for 2oz of Fluid every 15 minutes for 4 weeks. Well, sadly, I'm over all the sweet flavors/drinks. Protein shakes....chocolate, vanilla, strawberry...powerade zero and G2...strawberry, fruit punch, raspberry, orange, etc. I'm a savory person--help!! Any suggestions for liquids that are not sweet/fruity? I tried soup broth but I'm also on sodium restriction. I also tried beef soup broth, and it grossed me out. Anything with beef in it, just the smell makes me nauseous.

Thank you all!! Great ideas! It didn't occur to me to add seasonings to the broth! I'm drinking plain water. I try for every other drink to be water.

Lynziv Toy understanding the pre-opt diet for the gastric sleeve is to help shrink the liver. They have to move the liver during surgery, and the smaller it is the better. It decreases the risk of having to go laparoscopically to full midsection incision. With you having the lap band already, maybe they felt your liver wouldn't be as fatty.

Hello! I had my VGS on 9/16. So far things are going well. I've been reading things from this site and find it helpful. I've not told many of my friends or family that I was having this surgery. My best friend knows, as she had this procedure 3 years ago, and my mother knows. I would just like to talk with individuals going through the same thing and same addiction (food, carbs). I was the jolly fat friend in the group, so my friends don't really understand.
