I'm another 60.

Yes, I am an Ann also. It must have been the rage of that time. I know I need to stop taking some of my meds next week. I think I will be hurting by the time of surgery. My knees have been killing me lately so I started taking some meds I had. It made such a huge difference. I sure know where you are coming from

Hey Everyone, I'm not sure if I'm who you are referring to, I'm Sams, better known as Sharon, yes another one. I am really excited because when I got home I got a message from the surgeon with APPROVAL! I am scheduled for the 12th. What a crazy mess today, because I called the insurance co myself today and was told it was denied because they don't cover anything but surgery for obesity. I told them that last time I checked lap band surgery was surgery! She is calling me back tomorrow. I believe the surgeon's office. They won't operate with approval.

I was in the same position as you. The hospital I am going to (in PA) requires you to join (for $350) a group visit program. I had an information meeting, a baritrician visit and got scheduled for monthly meetings (about 2 hours each) that they covered information in the notebook we got. We had a psych evaluation and met with a dietician. I didn't visit the surgeon until the last month. They scheduled the date right away. After our last grouop visit our case was presented to the surgical review board so they knew that I met the requirements. I am not waiting for final insurance approval but I am scheduled for the 12th of March. That day can't come soon enough.

Hi everyone. I am in the waiting phase. I had all my appointments and even have a date, but I am waiting for final approval from my insurance. I called the surgeon's office to see if they heard. I scheduled my date on the 5th of Feb so I guess it isn't too long for insurance. It seems very long to me. I would be very disappointed if things didn't go through. I spent 6 months with required sessions required by my hospital. The make everyone who wants weightloss surgery to go through these classes. I guess it is good to make sure it is what you really want. This site has been great for me lately seeing all the positive results. I don't read about any of the problems. I want to have a positive attitude when I go. I'm also a teacher in a vocational high school and want to have a good start before summer. I don't know how many people I want to tell. My close friends know, but others at work don't need to know. I guess I am afraid to tell people in case I don't lose much. That isn't very positive is it?

Hi, Just read your post. I am from PA - Allentown. I am scheduled for March 12th. -
Hey, I have the 12th as my date also. I don't have to do a liquid diet before, I need to do Atkins before and the 1 week of liquids. I'm from PA and have been waiting for this time for the past six months.

Hi Everyone, It is great to see all of you being successful. Are you happy and still glad you made the decision to get your band. I have a date scheduled for march 12th, but I am still waiting for the insurance approval. This is a real emotional roller coaster! I saw that one of you was just two weeks out and getting in Protein. What form are you using, real food or supplements? I am trying to get prepared.

Thanks for the encouragement. I know what I need to do but I need to get in the habit. Like make sure I have the right food available when I need it. I am working on starting to avoid drinks before or during meals and eating more protein. I was at a required meeting last week at the hospital. There were about 50 bipass people and about 8 lapsters. It is nice to find others my age. The majority of people present were in their 40s.

:thumbup:Hi everyone. My screen name is sams46 (my initials) but I am another Sharon. There must be something with that name. I have been watching this site for weeks, but kind of slowed down when I was seeing all the problems. I am scheduled for surgury on 3/12 and decided to not read about problems because I want a positive attitude. I was really impressed with Skittles. It is really encouraging to see your success. It is nice to see people my age (61) being successful. I have high hopes. I just need to be positive and watch my protein.
