My name is Mallory. I'm 28, married with no children. I have pcos and insulin resistance. I'm currently taking the first steps to surgery as of 9/21/15. Which was my first weigh in. Although I attended my seminar 4/14/15. I decided to do more research before I fully committed. I'm using bcbs of AL. Which my out of pocket would be a little over $2,000. So hopefully if all goes well I will be having surgery spring or summer of 2016! I chose RNY for various reasons. Which I may get into later.I've been overweight since I could remember. I was in 3rd grade and I sat next to a friend during a group project and we compared our thighs to one another. I was on slim fast at the age of 8. I was an active child, always riding my bike...always. But my dad always joked and said I was a bottomless pit. Like I had a hole in my stomach that never felt satisfied. Yet he would argue with me every year when he had to buy new school clothes because I was always a bigger size. My mom was 110lbs when she married my dad. And in her mind even when she ballooned up into to 180's-200's she acted like she was still that 110lb snob and that I would never compare to her. I've always been a size or two bigger than her. And she would always put me down. She still does in her own ways. But I've learned to accept her for who she is no matter if I like what she says or not. I'm over being judged for being "the big girl". I'm so tired of losing weight and somehow it creeps back on 4x the speed I lost it. I'm here for support, knowledge and friends.
