I had my surgery 11/12 and I'm about to complete my Week 3 post op on Thursday. I lost 10 lbs. during my pre-op diet and 8 lbs. so far since surgery. I weighed 239 at surgery and now I've been teetering around 231 for almost two weeks!!! My doctor is definitely more liberal than others and has let me do trial and error (protein first) since the start of Week 2. Why is my weight not dropping during this time when people drop weight like crazy?! A bit frustrated that I'm not seeing the results on the scale.

I'm 10 days post op and I feel like I can drink water the way I used to and same with protein shakes. I haven't felt so full that I'm not feeling good and I'm hungry (or so I think I am). Help - is something wrong with me?!

Thank you everyone! My doctor gave the green light for solids yesterday! Yay! I'm hoping this helps with my hunger. I appreciate everyone suggestions and a happy thanksgiving to all!

I'm 12 days post op and feel hungry. I miss chewing and I'm frustrated. Is this normal? I have heard people can't get down water and I'm sitting here hungry?!

I'm so hungry too - on soft liquids and purées until Thursday ... Sleeved on 11/12. Today I'm just hungry and sad. What if my sleeve is not working?

Hello everyone! I'm Becca and I'm having VSG in San Francisco on 11/12/15. I love coffee. Love may be an understatement ????. Every morning, I go to Philz Coffee for a small drip coffee with light cream no sugar. I am anticipating I may have to drop this habit or my body may not tolerate the coffee. Also, I have heard in my bariatric support group that I may not have enough room for coffee with the size of my pouch at first; I will probably want Water more. Does anyone who has had VSG still drink coffee? What was your experience? Did you not drink in the beginning but can drink it later on? Any creative ideas to get in coffee and water? Open to all comments. Thank you!

Thank you everyone for your advice and experiences. Thinking eventually I will put cold brew into a protein shake in the morning. Less acidity and same caffeine. Has anyone tried this?

Thank you everyone! Just a quick update ... I was denied due to not completing weight management program. My surgeons PA had a peer to peer the same day with the Medical Director of Cigna. They were missing my September weigh in and diet and exercise documentation. After the Medical Director explained to the PA that I didn't quite do what they wanted, she would approve it once she receives the September information from my PCP. All I care about it that I'm approved for VSG on 11/12/15. Cigna will do anything to deny you ... never stop trying.

Hello everyone! My name is Becca and I'm 33 years old and live in San Francisco, CA. I was previously banded on 10/01/2009 and had to get my band removed with my gallbladder on 05/14/2015. Since the surgery in May, I have gained about 20 pounds. I am supposed to have VSG on 11/12/2015 ... insurance permitting. I am so over feeling sad, anxious, and out of control during this waiting period. I am compulsively eating and trying to get it all in while I can. I was able to take off 100 pounds in the 5 years after my lap band surgery; mostly from working out and eating healthy. Now I just feel like that same 300 lb. girl, even though I'm still far from that. I want to be out of the waiting period desperately and regain control of my life. Please tell me this is worth the wait!? I want so badly to be healthy and happy! Any words of wisdom are welcome. Thanks, Becca
