Hun you are young...still looking for Mom and Dad's approval. Be a big girl and take the leap into adulthood. I wish you good luck. I don't mean to be mean I just wish someone would have help me with the approval thing when I was young. I had my surgery in January and have told only my DH and DD. I was afraid I would fail. Now I don't care who knows.
-
I hope you don't cancel. I weighed about the same as you 215 at surgery. I had surgery in January this year. I now weigh 150 I would never have been able to lose that much on ww even if I did You always gain the weight back. Think of the BIG picture. Its a little work but you can do it. Good Luck .

Sounds like you are off to a good start. Good luck on your journey.

I am so sorry you are suffering. It is obvious you need an unfill. I also have had the same problem. It's no fun. Call your Dr. first thing Monday norning.

I went to Mexico as my BMI was only 32/33 so USA doc would touch me. I guess I could have payed $15,000./$18,000. and gone to a local doc. I went to doctor Juan Antonio Lopez Corvela...$8,000. I could not be happier with my results. I went back to Mexico twice for fill. I now go to Dr. McKeen in San Jose Calif. for fills. LOVE MY BAND

How did your doc. get your parents phone number? That is just wrong. I am so sorry I know I would be mad as hell. I had my lap band surgery in January 2008, and I still havent told my Mom. Just not ready.

Thats why I keep my own council. I never have conflict with myself. You do not need aproval from Mom. My Mother does not have a clue about my band. I only told my supportive DH and DD.

Oh, Boo Boo...Hang in there just like the Kitty in the poster doing pull-ups. You are a wonderful insporation to all of us. You made me relize I need a fill. I have restricted in the am but...what made me think just a little bowl of ice cream or a small piece of Birthday cake would not do any harm. We are a group of people that need to relize we can not eat like "regular" people. We really need very little food to sustain our bodies. Thats why I love my little "RUBBER BAND"

Yes... it's called the "Last Supper Syndrome"

I told hubby and daughter. I knew they would be supportive. I like having a little secret all to myself. Some of my friends have noticed my weight loss. I just accept their kind words. My coworkers would not say a kind word to me if it killed them. That could be a clue why I don't talk about my band.

Boobar,
I wasn't being flippant in my replay to you. I really suffered being too tight. I would have had to fly back to Mexico to get an unfill. I had a four hour window in the middle of the day when I could get food down. I had to put all food in the blender, and drink juice all day because even Water burned my band area.
I suggested you call your surgeon and visit with him on the phone so you would not have to suffer as I did. You may need an unfill. Best wishes to you. Sandy

Boobar, You might want to call your surgeon. It sounds like you may need another adjustment. Not drinking enough Water could lead to dehydration. Best of luck I had a fill just like you and I "rode it out" I lost 18 lbs before I could eat without slimming. What a trip having my little "rubber" band.

Congrats on your surgery. You will be just fine. My husband was home with me, but I really just wanted to rest. I had some gas/shoulder pain so I walked around the house ever half hour. Walking is a big help, but have your gasX strips handy. I have had many surgeries and stayed home alone. You will be fine just picture yourself getting thinner everyday.

Hi MaryRose, I just attended my daughters engagement party last Saturday afternoon. I have worn (spanks) and they work fine. I just wanted a little more support so I went for the heavy duty Macy's full body armor no problem with the band. Have a happy wedding I am sure you will look fab.

I want only positive feed back...so I do not shair my wls. My hubby and daughter know bc I knew they would support me. Why put your neck under mean people boots. I keep negetive people out of my circle. I am much happier that way and I get better results in my weight loss

Hello *LOVE* I did not have my first fill untill 9 weeks post op. I waited untill I really needed it. I just had my second fill and I am in my "sweet ZONE" You will know when you are ready. Follow your own body.

It appears that you are looking for approval for your wls from your friends. You need to do what s good for you. One can not live their life by committe be your own person. good luck with your journey. I wish you all the best.

Have any of you CA Kaiser members out there had your bands done in Mexico/by other US doctors and had Kaiser do your fills or revisions?I have Kaiser (NorCal). I might have to get a port revision but since I'm self-pay with the band I may not be able to afford more money for this second surgery with my private doctor.
I'm so worried I won't be able to get this fixed. I've only had the band for 6 mo. and 2 fills.
If you have a flipped port??why don't you call your doctor in Mexico to fix it. I have talk to a Mexico patient that had that proplem and her doctor fixed her flipped port for just the cost of the O. R. room about $400. as I remember

I know what you mean. I just got my second fill today and I am back on liquids for 3 days. I forgot how boring everything liquid can be. Just remember you are one day closer to your goal. GOOD LUCK on your journey.

Last night I was working, shooting photos at a small high school pageant, the evening wrapped up, all went perfectly well, until I was leaving. My husband went to the car first, I then went out and started to walk down the 4 concrete stairs and just fell, rolling down and totally went into a lot of pain and shock. After a trip to the ER room, I have a break in my leg and a break in my ankle. Two breaks at once! So, today is my 3 week anniversary since my lap-band surgery on 4/19 and now I have to finish healing from the surgery, nurse two breaks and not exercise. I am in shock over this whole thing. Unreal! I just needed to vent and I will need some support as this won't be easy. It is the first break in my whole life - I have sprained joints, but never had a fracture. What luck - just awful. I am happy that my band area seems to be fine though, that is a blessing!Hope you have a speedy recovery. I also went to Mexico for my band too, We both have the same surgeon. I go back for my fills. Take care and watch your steep.
