Hi all! Newly bypassed here... struggling with protein
Renee2015 replied to phatfatgirl's topic in Food and Nutrition
I drink those every morning and my nut supports this! It is a good feeling to know that over half of your protein is already met! Also Protein 02 is water that has 15 grams of protein and Greek yogurt is good as well, it usually has 12-15 grams of protein per container. I use Dannon Greek, it's only 80 calories. FairLife is milk with protein in it. -
Recovery for most is 2-4 weeks but do what you think is best, there will never be a perfect time.

Protein 02 is water that has 15 grams of protein. I also eat Dannon Greek yogurt that is 12 grams of protein and only 80 calories. Their is also milk made by Fair Life that has protein in it. You can also purchase Whey protein shots from Walmart or bariactric pal that will give you 42 grams of protein and are only 3.8 ounces. They taste better cold!

Recovery + Time Off Work
Renee2015 replied to Janie80's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I took 4 weeks off, pain ended after 2 weeks. Energy level has been the biggest challenge but otherwise good. I had surgery on 10/02 and will be returning to work 11/02. -
I can't be the only one that can't stomach protein!

ProteinO2 water has 15 grams of protein in it, so you get you water and protein at the same time! -

Lose too much weight= denied?
Renee2015 replied to Chelsea Nacole's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Please check your plan, usually what was your initial assessment is what they go with because they want you to start having healthy habits before surgery. -
My doctor told me for more long term success is to go with Bypass. I had the lap band first and it got twisted so I had to remove it. Do whatever you feel is best for you and definitely talk with the surgeon good luck!

ANYONE HAVING SURGERY ON OR AROUND NOV. 3
Renee2015 replied to sammie.1965's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a 2 week liquid diet of protein shakes, but I could have veggies for 2 snacks and one meal just no carbs or sugars. Actually not too bad now! -
