That article is not scientifically accurate at all. A very low-fat (10-20%), whole food, plant-based diet has been proven over and over again to be absolutely the most healthful diet. When are obtained by eating the foods from which they are extracted (e.g. Corn not corn oil; olives not olive oil, peanuts not peanut oil), you get the full benefit of the food instead of a ton of calories with only a tiny bit of nutritional benefit.
The problem is, most studies that compare low-fat to other diets are not low fat at all. They are typically 25 to 50% fat!
