  1. I need a kick in the behind. I was banded on 3-13-08 and have only lost 50 lbs. I have not lost anything since September of 08. I am getting a fill that should have taken place months ago this Monday. I am quickly finding myself getting back into old habits. I don't exercise outside of the 1 night a week I play tennis. I am running through more and more drive-thrus. The one thing I am really worried about is I still have restriction. I will eat 3 to 4 bites of something and start salivating like crazy. Then once that passes I can eat almost anything. It feels like there is no restriction. I have to wait for it to pass but once it does, it is on. I am feeling really upset at myself and myself only. I need advice on some small things I can begin to do now. Has anyone else out there been through this and if so, how did you overcome it? Thanks in advance. Julie :-)

    What is wrong with me?

Thank you so much. I appreciate your suggestions. I am glad you mentioned the Water. That is such an easy one and I am back to drinking a ton of soda pop again, diet, but none the less, pop. Thanks for the recipes as well. I am getting a fill on Monday the 2nd of March. I hope this will jump start me again. Does anyone have pain at their port site when they eat a lot of food? I have to mention this to my doc. I have alots of pain at the port site once I have ate a lot. Thank you again. I look forward to hearing from others as well. Julie

I'm not losing as I should!

I am in a smiliary boat as you. You have lost A LOT of weight in a short amount of time. Your body is working!! :-) I have found that sometimes when I eat very little I don't lose as much as when I increase my food intake. My weight loss has been much slower than yours, but I am still making HORRIBLE food choices. I am still eating out near daily. :-( I had my third fill the other day and am up to 5cc's in my band. How much do you currently have in your band? Hang in there, you can do this. Also, what about increasing your water intake. I find that helps me get un-stuck from not losing weight. Julie :-)
  4. I was banded on March 14th. That seems like so long ago. Anyway, I had my first fill on April 24th. I guess my band came from the manufacturer with 2cc in it. My doc wanted to add between 2 and 3 more and I was only able to take 1.3cc comfortably. So I have in me total 3.3cc. I have a 10cc band. Well, Friday I did liquids. This was awful as we spent all day at American Girl and the food looked and smelled delicious. LOL! That night I went to Panera and got two soups as I was starving. I was able to eat ½ of one and a whole of another. In the evening when I went to bed I felt awful. It felt like it was sitting in my esophagus. Saturday I ate small but “normal” food. I had no discomfort. Today, we went to Mexican and I was only able to eat about ¼ of my food. When I got home I felt really sick and had diarrhea. I have not PB’d yet and I am wondering if I am eating two much food. How do you know when you are eating too much? I stop when I feel as if I can’t go anymore. I don’t have the burping that some have described. I do however; feel as if I could just puke if I ate another bite. The nurse practitioner told me that if food sits in your esophagus to long it can stretch it out and that can be a MAJOR problem. Has anyone heard of this and how can this be avoided? I am really worried about this. I look forward to your comments.
  5. I love the idea of putting the change in the water bottle. :-) I am from Chicago also. I am from Naperville actually. I was just in the city on Friday. I took my two youngest down to American Girl. You know I stopped in Vuitton while I was there. :-)

Okay, so I want to no more about the "funny nose". :-)

    Too much food????

Thank you for your post. I agree, I am eating more and more. I do not want to PB. I am just not sure when enough food is enough. It is a new game for me. :-)

    Too much food????

Thank you for the replies. I have to just start measuring my food. I think that would be helpful. Julie :-)

    How long for a PB?

I also am concerned about this PB. Does it happen just because something can't get through the band or once you have eaten to much and it is backing up into your esophagus? I am not sure what the PB stands for although I have seen it on here several times. It is something to do with burping and you "puke" until the caught item comes up. However, it is not puking with stomach acid because it has never reached your stomach..
  10. I will take a handbag over shoes anyday. I am actually putting up all the money we used to spend eating out and saving for my next Hermes bag. I can't wait. :-)

    Is this a PB

I am concerened that my band isn't working. I have not PB'd yet. I can eat meat, cheese, you name it. I have had one fill so far. I will post something on a new thread related to this.
  12. To get the ticker started click on hers and it should take you to the website. Also, in between my pre-op appt. and my first fill, 4 weeks, I only lost 1 lb. I thought I had gained though. I had been eating everything under the sun. JUNK, JUNK, and more junk. The weight will start to come off.

I Want My Band Out NOW

I agree. It is time for a second opinion. Don't give up on the band just yet.
  14. You look fantastic. Keep up the great work. :smile2:

    Food Processor/Blender

I have a blender and a food processor. Both work well. Blender for liquids, processor for mushies. However, my friend has the bullet and loves it.
  16. I went out to dinner with my family the other night and I just brought my shake with me. I drank tea w/splenda and had my shake. I just enjoyed being with them. I used to eat out 10-14 times a week. I am amazed at how I have had no real desire to eat out at all. :-)
  17. I am 15 days post op today and mine held a protein shake each day. :-)
  18. :thumbup:I am really excited. On Thursday evening I had my post op with my doc for my 2 weeks. The port pain I have been complaining about he stated was normal and would go away. He said if the fluid isn't gone in 4 weeks when I get my 1st fill he will remove it himself. BUT, the most exciting thing, I got the okay for mushies. So last night, Friday, I had one piece of fish in the food processor and also a little spaghetti. I never ate enough to feel full just satisfied. This morning had a 2lb. weight loss. Much as I have had in one day since 3 days post op. I am really excited.
  19. I also wanted to add that as I was eating last night I was a little scared about eating for fear of gaining weight. Did you guys experience this? I was really excited to see the extra weight loss this morning. :biggrin2:
  20. Water shouldn't be a problem. Especially if you didn't throw up. :-) Way to go on the walk. You should be proud of yourself only 10 days out. :-)

    Port Broke Out

I am glad to hear this. I was wondering if this was something I was going to have to live with for awhile.

    Port Broke Out

I was just banded on March 14th and am having port problems. It is killing me when I bend over. I can feel it real well. Is this normal and does it get better? It really is bothering me. I am going to dr. tomorrow for my post-op and am anxious to see what he says. I look forward to hearing from you on this. :-)

    Losing too much weight

I just found the pictures. What an inspiration you are Chickie. Thank you for sharing. :-)
  25. I have not once been hungry. My mind thinks I am hungry all of the time because I can't get food off of it. However, I am not really hungry. I was banded on the 14th of March and actually went on a bike ride with my two young girls tonight. We only rode about 1 mile but it felt great. We are awesome March bandsters!!!!!:eek:
