i definitely understand where you're coming from. as you see from my signature, it took me 5 adjustments before i hit the right spot. i was wondering for 3 months whether the band was a scam! jk but seriously, it does take a minute. be patient. even though i knew that i wouldn't wake up magically changed, i was kinda wishing i would. best of luck to you and know that the adjustments do work.

i know this can be a really tough dynamic. at least you and your daughter have a similar experience with battling the weight. my mother is skinny and has been all of her life. she basically doesn't like to eat and is completely mystified that i enjoy food. she's that person drinking milkshakes at night to gain weight. she used to ask me 'aren't you tired of chewing yet?' as an 'incentive' to lose weight. it will prob be a difficult transition but i think it might be a great opportunity to figure out a lifestyle for the whole family in stead of you or her being the only 'dieter.' i know as a daughter i would have loved that!

i know! i have the exact same problem. i also live in ny and every social thing involves alcohol. i don't have a problem with booze either but i can't cut down/stop long enough to really get my weightloss going. when i have my 'no booze' stretches the weight really comes off. i don't have any answers, but if someone does, i'd love to hear it! i guess i'll just have to try really hard to cut down. i only drink whiskey & soda to try to cut down on the calories, but i definitely struggle with this one!

the real danger is that the board keeps me in full procrastination mode at work. shhhhhhh! :kiss fortunately i get my exercise in before work and in all the walking nyc requires.

hang tight until you can get another fill. what you're experiencing is completely normal. i definitely went thru it. but once i got to my 'sweet spot' i literally have only been hungry a handful of times in the past 2 months. it's an amazing feeling. i know a lot of people don't think it's right to put your fill levels on display because everyone is different. but the reason i put mine on there is because it took several tries to get it right and i always found it helpful to know that. best of luck!

i feel like my scars are taking longer to fade than is generally discussed on the board. do any of you guys have any tips for fading scars on dark skin? i am already using mederma and it seems to be working slightly. but at this pace, it would be like 5 years before they faded to the point that they couldn't be seen from say 5 feet away. luckily i didn't get any keloids so that's not a problem. but any help on fading these suckers would be appreciated. thanks!

thanks for the suggestions guys! i'll try more of the cocoa butter and maybe the silicone. i am definitely in the slow lane for a bikini bod. maybe next year

i don't like my cottage cheese sweet AT ALL. so i like mine with (i know this sounds gross) with 2 tablespoons of chili con carne or spaghetti sauce. if that's not available, i like just a touch of salt and lots of pepper. bon apetit!

i am 5'8" and i'd love to be a solid 8. then i could shop wherever...

i work in manhattan and live in brooklyn. but i would LOVE to get an NYC bandsters group going!

it also depends on your fill/restriction level. i am fairly tight and have trouble with a number of foods. some people, jachut comes to mind, who have more moderate fill amounts and are able to eat a wide variety of foods without trouble. so, i agree that this trip is not something you should be managing your band around. you will probably not be that concerned with this a year from now. you'll enjoy the trip whether with a tight fill or a moderate one.

wow! that seemed quick. welcome to band land! best of luck to you

Young adults getting banded or already banded

congrats shauntil! welcome to band land. i wish you every success! -
no restriction isn't supposed to be painful. it is supposed to make you feel full after 1/2 cup or less of food. it's not the same type of full feeling for me. it's more like i feel that the food is going to back up into my esophagus if i eat more. it feels 'harder' than feeling full did before. it's hard to describe. but like pornography, i guess you know it when you see it! feel it? good luck to you. i'm glad to see you're feeling less down than yesterday. hope this fill helps you feel more in control of your destiny.

i really miss sushi. with the rice.

pianoman, i would say don't worry about running out of room. i had 3cc's in (75%) and when i got another .4cc's up to 85% it was waaaaay too much. now i'm at 82% and it's great. but once you get closer to a good level, the smallest fills make a huge difference

congratulations on your health!! and what a beautiful yard!

i have been to negril for the past 3 years. and can't get enough! i love that place. it's true though, that you have to keep your eyes peeled. i live in new york, so i guess i'm used to it. but the people are wonderful, the food is wonderful and the beaches are beautiful. if anyone goes to negril, you gotta check out 3Dives Restaurant. it's on the side of the road between the rock house and xtabi. but definitely let a girl know about any LBT Jamaica excursions!
