Hi all!
So this is my story!
My name is Misty, I like piña coladas and getting caught in the rain.
Just kidding, but piña coladas are really yummy.
My name really is Misty though, I am 26 years old and am in the process of having the gastric sleeve surgery. I've been in the process for almost a year [wow it's been that long already?!]
I'll start from the beginning of this weight loss story. Before 3rd grade I was short, tiny and a picky eater. When I went into 3rd grade I don't know what happened but I gained a little weight [I think I finally realized that food is delicious] and it seems that since then I've always had weight issues. When I was about 18 my mother and I went on the HCG diet for a little bit. Did I have results from that? Oh yes absolutely! I lost 20 lbs and a few clothing sizes. I felt amazing and looked it as well! But we all know so very well, that this doesn't last forever. Not unless you continuously eat like a rabbit and not get all the protein you truly need. After a handful of months I slowly started back to my old eating habits because I was in college and around my friends constantly, there was no time to meal prep or have a healthy home cooked meal. At 21 I was not living at home anymore, and I was at my highest weight of almost 230 [yikes] I had to do something, I hated myself and I had never been that weight before let alone ever thought I would be there. I knew I wouldn't be able to keep up with how intense the HCG diet was, I went researching and found...OxyElite Pro. Those diet pills, I loved those pills. 1 bottle lasted a month and I lost 20 lbs. I managed to keep it off for a while. After some things happened I moved back home and vowed to take this nasty weight off so more dieting...with...HCG [again...yes I know] I couldn't keep up with it so I stopped and went back to the OxyElite Pro. For the next 3 years I went back and forth with diet pills.
Fast forward to last year. My weight went back up and up to 219. I freaked out, the last time this happened not many good things happened. So I call up my mother [who had RNY in '97-98] and started talking to her about the surgery. I started the process around Dec 2014-Jan 2015 and now it is Dec 2015 and I am inches away [that's what it feels like lol] to submitting all that I need to my insurance and pray that it gets approved.
There are many things that I have wanted throughout my lifetime but this surgery honestly I think is the absolutely #1 thing that I want need. I want to be able to have children, I want to be able to run a mile without wanting to cut my legs off, I want to wear a tank top without cringing.
I need my health back.
