  1. I completely understand! The puree stage will come soon enough, and you might even get over your cravings. All I was craving was mashed potatoes and pumpkin, and I haven't had either yet! My next craving is toast which I can have on my next stage.

    Still feeling no restriction

I definitely have more restriction now that I'm on pureed/soft foods. I can eat maybe 130-150g of food (yoghurt, ham, mince etc), but that seems to be more than most at this stage - I'm 2 weeks out. Even if my pouch is a little bigger I think i could be somewhat glad. I like having no hunger pangs, but do miss not being able to eat normally.
  3. If you're having trouble with your shoulder it's definitely gas. It's such an annoyance! I've been lucky enough not to get shoulder pain.[/quote My surgery was on 11/10. And every since then my shoulder has been in pain! It never goes away.... nothing is helping me. Everything except of that is great! I'm able to drink 26-30 ounces a day. Which is good I guess, I have been able to do light workouts, and I haven't been in pain minus the shoulder issue. I just want the pain to go away! ☹☹ Try walking, lifting your arm up and down, but definitely call your doctor.
  4. There are a few on Facebook if you're interested in that medium. Curvybritt I'm also drinking about that much - I was wondering if that was weird too. Any thoughts? I spoke to my dietician and doctor and they said that thats absolutely fine, as long as you don't drink 130ml in one big gulp. liquids are supposed to go down very easy.

    Still feeling no restriction

Everything will be okay, I'm sure there is some explanation.

    BM?

Day 4 for me, and don't expect it to be normal. My first one was basically water.

    Still feeling no restriction

Sorry to tag along to your thread, but I am 11 days post-op and I've finally gotten rid of my relux which I thought was masking my full point. I can eat 250ml of chicken Soup no problem in about 10 minutes. And I wouldn't say I've hit my full point, it's more I've decided to stop. Maybe because it's liquid? But no many of my rl friends have had the sleeve, and they are restricted at 130ml.

    Holy hunger!

When I was 4 days out I thought I could feel hunger. But I convinced myself it was just the acid and got approval from my doctor to double the dose or anti-acid meds. The gurgling and the feeling remained. I started taking Gaviscon yesterday and the gurgling is gone but the hungry feeling is still there. Some of us may just feel hunger.
  11. Anyone having trouble breathing normally? i can breathe but it feels like I can't take full breaths. I've been researching any people are saying that doctors have told them it's the gas.
  12. There's: November 2015 Women Sleevers Gastric Sleeve and Bariatric Surgery Support Group If you put in"gastric" "sleeve" or "sleevers" quite a few some up.
  13. I think it's because we are so restricted in our diets, EVERYTHING looks amazing because we can't have it. There's only so many Protein shakes and cans of Soup you can eat before your head hunger kicks in and you start going crazy. My SO has been buying fish lately because he knows I absolutely detest it. I've started watching him eat it and have my mouth watering. Eugh. It's definitely the texture of food that I miss too.
  14. I had my surgery on the 11/11 and I'm feeling fine now. The anaesthesia and anti-nausea drugs had me completely loopy so it was difficult for me to stay awake in hospital. I have so much heartburn and acid in my stomach it's crazy. Ive had to double my dosage of the anti-acid medication and that's still not doing it all. I'm also finding that I can drink about 200ml every hour. It seems very high for what everyone else can do? There are a few on Facebook if you're interested in that medium.

    Struggling

I thought that I was experiencing hunger after I came home from hospital but it was actually reflux. Its so strange that it can mimic hunger, but upping my anti-reflux medication has helped so much. But I'm dreaming of mashed potatoes and bbq shredded chicken, gosh.

Diarrhea in first week after surgery

Yep, it's completely normal, as the poster above stated, it's because you're on a liquid diet.
  17. Even if some are fine with it, it's completely not okay. Confidentiality is something you would think would be obvious.
  18. My family know, and some of my co-workers at work. I initially only wanted a select few to know, but now about 6-7 people know at work, but I'm fine with that. Upper management have no idea, and I plan to keep it that way. They have all been unbelievably supportive. The last week after my surgery I have had an influx of texts, Facebook messages and calls from them all supporting me, which made the week so much easier for me.

    One week post op sleeve

I also read through this forum completely, and knew that some regretted it. I just thought that I would be fine, and it wouldn't be an issue for me. But there's nothing like actually experiencing it.

    One week post op sleeve

I felt exactly the same. I'm at day 7 at the moment, and I feel myself dreaming out mashed potatoes and pumpkin. Even shredded chicken. I think what I miss most is the texture of food now. I regretted it for about 4 days, but it's getting better everyday and I'm definitely savouring food more which is nice.
  21. I start my pureed diet on the 26th! I can't believe I'm so excited for pureed chicken, mashed potato and mashed pumpkin.
  22. Mine only required a liquid diet 24 hours prior to surgery.

    Regretting it already..(day 1)

I regretted my decision for the first three days, but it got easier every day. I'm on Day 5 at the moment and it's gotten so much easier. What I feel now is not so much regret, but worry for my future but I think that's normal. It's a lot of adjusting, but you will get there in the end. The anaesthesia and anti-nausea medication all screwed with my mind, I was starting to go a little crazy.
  24. Then you're doing the right thing! That's exactly where I was coming from. Even Day 5 I feel like food is no longer consuming my life.
