    Pureed Stage

pureed devilled eggs maybe? I'm sticking to scrambled eggs, mince and baked Beans.

    Incision site lump

I have an incision that's a little bit harder than the others, but it feels like scar tissue. Anything bigger than that I would call you surgeon, just for peace of mind.
  3. I'm definitely more relaxed, and don;t stress out as much as I did before. I also feel like my depression has lifted a bit. It could be what someone said above me - I see a light at the end of the tunnel.
  4. Yep - liquid in, liquid out. Once you start your Nourishing fluids (not clear) and Puree it will start becoming normal again, just smaller in size.

Six days pre-op struggling with diet

That's the hardest part to get past, head hunger - and being honest it's one of the hardest things you will have to try to combat after the surgery too. But i think it's good that you have a pre-op diet though, as I didn't and I had to deal with it after the surgery. After a while you get used to not eating the food, and it's easier to focus on the foods you CAN eat.
  6. I haven't had the okay, but they're just telling us the consistency of foods to eat. So as long as whatever food your eating is of substance and is in tat same consistency I'm sure it's fine. If it can be pureed you can eat it haha. I got a list of things I could eat. I found I was also allergic or intolerant to whey Protein so it was difficult for me to get my protein in which is why I started the sliced meats. I tried Soy Protein but it's so so sweet.

    Week 2-3 Stall!?!

I've been stalled for over a week (3 weeks out) and i just measured myself today and i've still lost 14cm in a week (neck, bust, arms, waist, hips, thighs). So you're still losing, your body is just adjusting to your large losses.

For the "girls" - yes those girls....

I think it's because it's so hard to buy nice bras in large sizes, so my mentality is that it's still going to be too hard. Thanks for the tip!
  9. Me? I'm sticking to a lot of things that were in my liquid diet - smoothies, Protein shakes, yoghurt. But I've added sliced meats and mince (that I'm making sure to chew into puree - naughty I know), baked Beans, chunkier Soups, eggs. Honestly, I was miserable during the liquid stage but as soon as I added something as simple as eggs I was happier. Or sliced meats and tomato sauce. Suddenly they have become a delicacy haha.

    2 weeks

I will be honest and say that the first three days in hospital will be rough (the combination of the hospital stay, and the discomfort). However, every day gets so so much better. Every day you will wake up and the discomfort and pain will lessen (and there is not that much pain after surgery). You will start to look forward to each new stage of your diet and hold on to that! You won't be craving chips, chocolate.. you will crave mashed potatoes and pumpkin, carrots etc! And take that as a win too! I also recommend weighing yourself every week, but also taking measurements. The weight is great to lose, but having those measurements were amazing for me. Getting my tape measure and being able to see how big I was only 1-2 weeks ago was great and really encouraging! The surgery is a big step but you made the decision for a reason. Remember, you can still eat the same foods but all in moderation. I was crying a few days until I realised that I wasn't crying over the surgery, I was crying over the diet and that snapped me out of it. It's only 6 weeks until I can eat normal food again (in moderation), and I cannot wait.

    Still feeling no restriction

No hunger pangs, and portion control.
  12. i measure myself every Wednesday and even though I haven't lost any weight, I've lost 14cm! i measure neck, arms, bust, waist, hips and thighs. So that's encouraging. I'm hoping that means once i break the stall there will be a big drop in weight! Thought I would pass that on for all those a little down about their stall.
  13. I was sleeved Nov 11, and have lost 6kg (12lbs). but I've been on a stall for a week, very annoying. I have my regrets, but it's nothing that time won't heal. It's mainly just mourning foods. Or getting annoyed that my stomach is so small, but what was I expecting? I will be happier once my losses start again.

    Heartburn

Nexium or Somac, maybe give your surgeon a call. Mine was so bad I ha dot take a double dose of Nexium, PLUS mylanta. Now I'm still on the Nexium, but only take mylanta occasionally.

    Hospital Stay Day or Days?

In Australia it tends to be a mandatory 3 days.

    So hungry!

I had hunger too, but then I realised it was just acid reflux in disguise. If you're not taking any antacid medication like nexium or somac maybe ask your doctor. I'm taking nexium, and am also taking an antacid when needed.
  17. I've hit my stall too, but I've been taking measurements every Wednesday, hopefully I'm still losing.

    Sleeve failure?

I worried because I was hungry (but it was actually reflux in disguise), and because I could very easily eat 250ml of Soup in 20 minutes, which was the suggested time by my dietician. However, once I've started pureed foods the restriction came in. Soups, and an other liquid, very easily goes through your sleeve.

    What are slider foods?

Chocolate, oh lord, that's my slider food...

    Bathing

I think it has to do with what dressings you have on your incisions. I had waterproof dressings so I was fine to shower after surgery.
  21. I got a big drink bottle and subtly marked every 100ml on it. It's hard to remember to sip every 5 minutes, so if I haven't drink it all in an hour I'll try to make it up in the next hour, or I'll chug it down on the hour. Makes it easier when Im' at work too. Fluids go through your stomach easily. My dietician says that you can drink 130-150ml at a time (the size of your stomach now) as long as you leave enough time for your stomach to digest it. I tend to leave 10 minutes. So if you think about it that way you can really get quite a lot of Water down if you concentrate on it for an hour. I used to think I could drink plain water easily, but once I added a little cordial I was able to drink so much more.

    Sleeping

I slept on my side as soon as I got home from hospital which was day 4, but I had a pillow that I had to prob my belly on so that it didn't feel like anything was pulling. I'm 2.5 weeks out now and I still have my pillow handy.
