I Think I Need to Resume Antidepressants
itstimealready replied to kc892020's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was just getting ready to START Wellbutrin. I am soooo nervous to start it because of weight gain but my doctor thought it might actually help me with binge eating. So fingers crossed. -
Unusual rapid weight after years post op?!
itstimealready replied to Hoppy123's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had sleeve surgery in 2016 and got down to 160 pounds, then lost the last 30 doing keto. I stayed at 130 pounds almost perfect for me for 3 years then all the sudden this covid quarantine has me 23 pounds weight gain in just a few months! I’m eating sweets like crazy and bread and just a complete carb fest I don’t know what has gotten into me but it’s scaring me. -
Wait, can that be right? Did I really just . . . Need your opinions male & female
itstimealready replied to YeaMe's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
In the same boat, glad to hear how it went. Over the last year I’ve had one who ran for the hills and one who can’t get enough. Both younger fit men it’s awkward but confidence is key. -
I'm terrified to give away my fat clothes now that I'm tiny!
itstimealready posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Please help! I'm a collector not a hoarder. For decades I've curated a gorgeous wardrobe of flattering elegant clothing at every size for my body from 2 to 14. Now 2 years post surgery I'm a 2 yet again and after a LIFE of yo-yo-ing I'm terrified of donating it all in case it's harder to maintain than I think. Whether my weight was going up or down one good thing was I always had lovely things to wear that fit my shape and I didn't have to spend the time or money on a wardrobe because I wear classic pieces that I buy on sale. Of course I always wanted to stay smaller but as we all know that's not always in our control. It drives me crazy when people say oh give your clothes away so that you can't go back to being fat as if we got fat logically instead of emotionally. So if the surgery is indeed for life and I'm not going to gain a bunch of weight then I am completely on board for donating all of it if I'll never wear it again but I will be furious if three years later as has happened throughout my life i'm chubby again for whatever reason and have to go buy fat clothes again. I don't have the money for that. With surgery I went from 215 to 160 but it took going "keto" (high fat low carb diet) to get to 135 where I am now. (having done the hCG diet multiple times in my life and lost lots of weight I am understandably very nervous about gaining again.) so what do you think the odds are keeping this weight off for life? Thank you for understanding this emotional time for me! (I just moved and can either store or donate as I don't have lots of room. Storing in a "pod" is way cheaper than replacing in a few years. Thank you for your wise encouragement. -

That is awesome! I hope there will be enough fat to put in my buttocks when I'm done. Got about 10 more pounds to go. I will totally check her out and tell her I heard from you. -
Plastic Surgeon referrals for after weight loss please!
itstimealready posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I am almost at goal! Took a lot longer than I expected but I am loving this new body! Not so much for the extra skin though. I want to start researching plastic surgeons to tighten up my tummy, arms and legs. I only lost about 70 pounds but it's jiggly for sure, not hanging over or anything though - so no way will insurance cover it. Anyone have great results with an affordable surgeon? I don;t mind going to Mexico or Central America to save some money either! Thanks~!- 6 replies

Anyone heard of regaining skin elasticity?
itstimealready posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Has anyone heard of regaining skin elasticity? I a year out and lost oh I don't know only maybe 65 pounds but from a lifetime of yo-yo dieting and sunbathing I have lots of very loose skin. Other than surgery, I don't like the scars, have you heard of supplements or treatments that can get skin elasticity back? I've heard of some kind of roller thing that people brag about but that's the only thing. -

Didnt go through all this to stop at the one yard line! God blessed me with a beautiful body that I have been covering in fat for decades. I am thrilled to be able to enjoy it's strength and beauty for the years I have left. Was hoping this forum had a number for people who were experts on apres weight loss surgeons. I have tried to research myself but it's hard to see who's really good and specializes in this. the real self site is pretty good but nothing beats a recommendation. Thanks! -
Potassium citrate supplement OK with sleeve?
itstimealready posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Has anyone heard if Potassium citrate supplements are OK with sleeve? I was getting leg cramps and eye twitches and I thought that I might be low on potassium so I bought a supplement but when I read the warnings it sounded like it could burn your stomach and since we don't have much of a stomach I was just curious . -

Great suggestion. I used to just add a bit of acv to my water bottle and I felt so good all day. Somehow I started forgetting to do it, thanks for the reminder. -

1 year out and 30 more to lose! Need to refocus!
itstimealready posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Hello all... well, well, well... I got cocky - was so happy to have my old bod back and I slowed down on the exercise and protein focus. I haven't gained but I have 30 more pounds to lose - so hoping my honeymoon phase isn't over. I hear of people still losing up to 2 years after surgery. I read your posts and am so encouraged! Anyone else in my predicament? I guess I know the answer and that is the 5 day pouch test. I should restart that right before the holidays. Can you believe after 3 weeks of deep fried everything and christmas my family is going on a week long cruise? ughhh an eat-a-thon is that LAST thing I want to be tempted with! Any tips? Thanks so much. Your support has meant so much to me since I never told anyone of my surgery! -
Glad to hear some people are doing the keto diet as I wanted to do that for the last 20 pounds. I was a little concerned about that seriously high fat in it but it sounds like it's OK.
-
The true keto diet is very high fat. I want to try it to blow off the last 20 lbs but was wondering if the high fat would be a problem with the sleeve. Tried a few days and was GREAT!

Thanks for the pep talk! Much appreciated! -
Wow how easy it is to slip back into bad habits! I've lost about 50 lbs with 20-30 to go but I'm looking pretty good and fitting into old clothes so I guess I started to get lazy or cocky...or both. Started scrimping on the exercise and adding carbs and all day grazing. Not gaining (thank you Lord!) but stopped losing months ago. That all day snacking at my desk on breadsticks no less turns out to be due to not eating a proper meal! Today I went to lunch and ordered half a sandwich without the bread and I was stuffed and couldn't eat for hours. Protein FIRST - the golden rule - I'd simply forgotten! My sleeve works great when I follow the directions! Hardly a ground breaking revelation but it was enough to turn me back around and get back on the program and plan ahead. And stop buying carby Snacks that I shouldn't have near me anyway. Well that felt good to say! Not sure anyone else is in the same boat but maybe it will encourage someone.

Menopause & GS. Did you go off HRT or will you? How are you coping?
itstimealready replied to TxSilverAngel's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had to go off a month before and after! I'm on bio-identical which theoretically shouldn't be different that what your own body produces. It seemed to me unnecessary jarring of your system. I didn't get blood clots which I think is what they get nervous about (if you don't stop HRT) so that's good. If I had it to do over not sure I would have stopped. My cycle still isn't back to normal and I'm 9 months out.
