Celebrating 2 years post surgery
itstimealready replied to NMJG's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My surgery is oct 26 and i LOVE hearing people's journeys, especially long termers! I can't really stand more than about a half hour or my feet hurt like crazy. I know this will get better as the weight comes off but getting an hour of walking in will be a challenge! -
November Sleevers! What items are you making sure to get?
itstimealready replied to NJE123's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Those are great ideas! I don't even know what some of them are! Little tupperware is great! I've seen some tiny ones they look almost like pill holders at the dollar store I can go get a batch of those. What is the mug warmer for ? I don't understand. -
I can't wait to.....

To be able to have the stamina to jump my horse again! Not get out of breath (thinking I'm having a heart attack!) and blotchy faced one time around the arena....And fit in my beautiful riding boots, not the ugly elastic plus sized ones I use now. ...And look cute in my riding breeches! -

Oct 21st sleevers..
itstimealready replied to alejcerra's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm in SoCal oct 26. No pre-diet. I did buy some shakes today to stock the house and get ready and I'm having one now! I couldn't find the premier brand so I bought Atkins. is that a good choice? I don't know what to look for yet. -
I just want to be normal.

I haven't told anyone yet- not planning on it either. I can always tell later if I choose. But I was quite astounded to get an "attitude" from my gynecologist (granted m, she's on the holistic side). She basically made me feel like "just bite the bullet, and do it the "healthy" way. have you no self control? I was really surprised but my regular doctor is the one who referred me and he's very supportive. -

Wow! That is terrible! Guess what? You WILL attract younger men ( haha and enjoy every minute of it!) and be your very prettiest and healthiest self! Sounds like that's a big threat to this relative! -
How many if you lost weight during preop?
itstimealready replied to baileyj908's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wasn't required to lose weight prior to getting approved by insurance , just "attempt" it for 6 months (monitored). In fact, since I'm low BMI I might have been declined had I lost too much. I actually gained 12 lbs. weighing in at 220. My surgeon didn't require a pre-op diet, thank goodness, since I am beyond frustrated with not being able to stay on one. The only way I've EVER been able to loose weight was the hcg injection diet. But you can't live on that. My sleeve op date is 10/26 I cannot wait! -
Gastric sleeve and birth control

I take bio-identical hormone creams. Since it's exactly what your body produces I'm hoping my doctor will let me keep taking them. I'm meeting with him tomorrow. -
Anyone having surgery in Oct ?

Oct 26 counting the days!!! -
I ate a half a watermelon last night all in one sitting! I figured stuffing myself like that is never going to be possible again so I enjoyed every bite.
-
I agree. I'm not planning on telling anyone either. I've lost weight before so it's not a big shock for anyone. Being able to compare notes and have someone to talk to makes this forum especially valuable when there's no one else you're planning on telling! I'm going to have to ask if they'll release me to an Uber driver. Lol

Can you do this all organic?

Why can't you have stevia? -
Time off work? One week? More?
itstimealready replied to itstimealready's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, the new lifestyle is something I'm concerned about at work. that's all I need is to be on a call focused on something else and take a huge gulp of water and then throw it up at my desk! Or worse! Lol -

Thank you, thank you, thank you for the great ideas and moral support! If I'm only putting a tiny bit in my body it's going to be top quality ( if possible)! )) -
Getting my house ready for surgery
itstimealready posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am nervous about having everything I need at home and accessible since there's no one to help me post surgery. I don't have a lounge chair or whatever you call a BarcaLounger that I've heard some people sleep in whist healing. I'm a stomach sleeper so this will be tricky. Also I want to make sure I have all my Water and Protein handy. Any suggestions? -
Uh Oh! I didn't maintain my weight loss.... what to do?
itstimealready replied to JellyBellyNoMore's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If the medication is phentermine most Drs require you be off it a month because it can mess with anesthesia! Personally I would take the gamble on showing up a couple pounds heavier than the danger to your health if the medication messes with your anesthesia or they just refuse you. -
Pre-op Weight Loss
itstimealready replied to tamirn's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was not required to diet preop but now that I have my date and it's a month away I'm so excited and ready to get started I think I will maybe do hCG and blow off 15 pounds before I have my surgery. In a way I was thinking these are the last few days that I can gulp Water and eat ridiculous sweets but I've spent a lifetime doing that so I'm kind of over it and very ready for this next journey. -
Any October 14th suargery dates out there?

Sleeping 45 degree, for 4-6 weeks!?!
itstimealready replied to lauragp74's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
My surgery is coming up and I am genuinely nervous about the sleeping because I can ONLY sleep on stomach - occasionally my side but I can't breathe on my back. Even during surgery I worry I'll choke. I will be in bad shape fast with no sleep. Any ideas? -

Low Bmi'ers...how Long To Goal?
itstimealready replied to Carrie's Journey's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I was kind of hoping to do the same...stay in ketosis to blast off the weight. The nurses I mentioned it to were like no way that is not the way to do it. I still want to though as long as it won't interfere with my healing. What is the big danger with ketosis as long as I'm healthy otherwise? -
Dumping, don't get it.

Organic ice cream is everywhere now and about the same price as the regular kind. -

itstimealready replied to meyouus's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I haven't had my surgery yet but I can tell you I've noticed an enormous difference in the ability to digest regular ice cream versus organic ice cream. It seems the chemicals in the fake stuff aggravate me much more. I have no problem with the organic so I am guessing after surgery this might even be more crucial info. Just a thought.
