confused

I had always been told that I look like my grandma.  Well when I was in my 20 I started getting some of her health problems, Hypothyroid was the first.  Grandma took dialysis 3 days a week.  When I was told that I was diabetic, all I could think of was having to take dialysis and how painful that really is.  I didn't want to be that much like my grandma, so that's why I chose to take this path.  Now my eyesight has improved, I don't take any kind of Thyroid medication, and I'm not diabetic anymore.  The only things I take are vitamins.
