I thought I recall reading that some are on a script to prevent gallstones but I searched and can't find it. If yes what Med is it and what's the duration, for life? Thanks

con con replied to MIMISAN's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My evaluation went great. He told me I was fun and had a great head in my shoulders. He actually visited me in the hospital after my surgery and gave me a kiss on the cheek lol we do things differently in San Francisco Lmmfao -
You are doing great. I've only lost 8lb and I'm in my second week. I'm having difficulty getting in all my protein. So maybe my body is in starvation mode? All the best

Why the age limit? If one wants to do good I would think there would be no restrictions. -
I used to love my Coke Zero vanilla. Now I drink crystal light cherry pomegranate and I love that too. But I will miss my Coke Zero. I purchased protein drinks from Costco, Premiere protein. They have a discount when you purchase online. Not sure if discount is available in store but you can only purchase two at a time so you have to make a few purchases. Chocolate is my fav, there is vanilla and strawberries and cream. 30g of protein. Ive also tried muscle milk light. But premiere is my fav. Gl!!!!!

Worried about insurance changing decision :( advice?
con con replied to ZombieQueen's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You need to be 100% confident with your surgeon. I would find a Dr. You are more comfortable with and be able to express your concerns without being placaded or talk down to. Your symptomolgy sounds like it might be a panic attack's to me. -
I decided to tell just my boyfriend and brother. My brother because he was the one who picked me up at the hospital. Honestly my standpoint is, my life, my decision. If people take notice I will respond with a thank you. A lot of people who have never had to deal with what we've dealt with the majority of our lives have no understanding of what it is to be overweight and micromanage everything that we put in our mouths. They just see people who overeat. There is so much more going on. Genetics, psychological and physical components. Do what is best for you and only you.

Everything changed for me when I started the preop liquid diet. I think it is actually very beneficial to go that route before surgery since that is what life will be like for several week post op. Your new stomach dictates what you consume. If you don't slow things down and comply you will experience pain. The human body is more intelligent than the brain where food is concerned. Your life and the way you handled food will be part of your past after surgery. You will be fine just listen to your dr. and your body. Gl

My shoulder pain stopped two days ago yay. So obviously it was nerve related and things are healing.

I was just wondering from those that are post op how the first couple of weeks post surgery went regarding weight loss. Two weeks prior to my surgery I lost 15 lb. my surgery was 9/16/15 and I've lost 7 lb. is that norm? Do you feel I should have lost more? I'm still on liquids and I have no gauge if I'm losing correctly, too slow or just about right. Thanks for any imput.

Question pertaining to foods first two weeks
con con posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm at my week one mark and I was wondering is it Imperative to adhere to the broth only aspect of the foods allowed for first two weeks or can you have something like a tomato purée soup? The broth just bores me. Also would a scrambled egg be a no no at this point? Thanks for any imput -
I'm hoping the input information is incorrect. 6"@167lb is thin already. And doesn't meet the criterium for sugary unless there is a horrible case of diabetes. But one would think if that was the issue another direction would be incouraged.

I didn't have a "last supper" I immediately started a liquid diet two weeks prior to surgery. I had zero appetite just like now. My situation was a bit different. I lost 159lb on weight watchers kept if off for 8 years had a horrible injury gained weight and decided to go this route. So I haven't had a splurge since 2006 lol enjoy

Heat and ice did nothing. This is a sharp penetrating pain. My dr. Said if it continues he wants to do an upper GI

How can I get my family in my corner?
con con replied to ♥dreamable's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I would focus on you. I've been on my own since I was 16. My life my life's decisions not my family. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but you are your own person. You are allowed yours especially when you are attempting to improve your life. Focus on your decision and just allow them to be family. Period. They have no room in your life's destiny. Sounds like they need some hobbies one that doesn't include you if they are coming form negativity. I made the decision for my surgery and only told my primary dr. And my boyfriend. It wasn't anyone else's business.
