How long before sleeping on your Tummy
con con replied to Marissela's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was able to sleep on my tummy just a few weeks after surgery. Gl -
Wonderful news. Job well done!

I know we all have some differences in how our bodies feel after surgery but.....I never feel full. Granted I don't feel hungry either lol I'm not sure if this is because I really don't eat much( 500-750 calories a day) or just how my new body is. Certainly after the surgery, when I was healing I felt the tightness from small amounts ingested . That has of course subsided. It's just odd to me I don't feel full or satiated. Will this be influx too? Thank you

yay!! I reached a 100lb loss 7 months out.

Correct no alcohol has to deal with common sense snd intelligence which is obviously lacking here . A severe debilitating injury was the cause of my weight gain.

I'm sure my response will not be received well but here we go. I lost 175lb on weightwatchers back in 2006 kept it off for 8 years. Totally changed my lifestyle eating and had a complete cessation of alcohol. I sustained an injury where I was non-weight bearing, not working for 8 months and although I still was on weightwatchers I gained 80lb being stuck at home. I decided to go in the direction of the sleeve I've almost lost 100lb in 7 months but I refuse to fall back into complacency. In my personal opinion anyone that makes the decision to drink after this surgery is setting the pattern for failure. Why on earth would you fuel your body with non-nutritional riddled with sugar liquids? And in my personal experience the sleeve is so much easier to lose weight than weight watchers was. Did I experience uncomfortable situations after the sleeve ? Yes but I was considerably more accountable doing it all on my own with weight watchers. It's all about priorities and honesty.

Feeling odd eating at restaurants
con con replied to loyalty_queen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
it sounds like it might be too soon for you to go out. although this could be a mind matter over body. Only you would know that. When I go out, i seek out great restaurants. I find if I need any modifications they are more than happy to do that. you are in control, that has to make you feel better. Try not to over-analyze it and just enjoy the company and experience. -
Vitamins...yuck
con con replied to Unicorn Believer's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't know anything about the patches. Originally I was taking a liquid vitamin but it tasted nasty. I found a great vitamin on max muscle, tablet form, called max multi that is very comprehensive. -

tired of being lectured on here

Maybe the origin of their comments is being miscommunication. Especially in a format like this, flat not really emotional it's getting lost in translation. I'm sure it comes from a good place. But sadly we can't teach manners -
How to get my water in?
con con replied to fullyalive's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I still have to force myself with protein 7 months out. Fluids are not a problem. It's hard for me to imagine this will change dramatically. Seems to be my new normal. -
Took me almost 3 weeks to void.

There are several posts usually effecting patients 5 years out. Stated you should get teeth cleaned every 3 months and take calcium.

Cheating with post op diet
con con replied to Lucilla's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You need to be honest with yourself. You are sabotaging your ability to progress. I couldn't eat much upwards of 4 months out. But we have all had to make healthy choices after deciding to go this lifestyle change. Tomorrow is a clean slate, respect your body and nurture it's healing -

How long was your hospital stay?
con con replied to Andrea Guadiana's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon's office seems to think that I'll be in and out of the hospital within hours and that I'll be ready to get back to work with few restrictions 3 days later. How many procedures has your Doctor done? In and out of the hospital within hours !!!???? Back to work in 3 days???!!! Sorry but that is absurd. -
For those who did preop liquid diet...weight loss?
con con replied to Brenda Sherwood's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I lost 37lb pre-op -
Overcome to terms with the dreaded stalls. Happens often. Then out of nowhere I will lose 8 or 10lb durning a few weeks. It just seems to be part of the package. I know how frustrating it gets. But now I try to view getting on the scale with humor. I had 4 weeks where the scale didn't swing in any way. But I'm 7 months out down 94lb so that is a pretty good thing? It will get better. Don't beat yourself up. Things will change. You could always go back to the beginning days and have protein shakes for two meals and see if that jump starts you.
