I'm Alex, a 23 year old female that lives in the southern United States. I have been struggling with my weight my entire life and have done everything from diets, to camps, to programs and nothing has stuck. I have lost the weight, but have always gained it back. I decided to get bariatric surgery when my mom noticed that I had started to stop breathing in my sleep. I didn't realize it was that bad and knew that my health was just getting worse as well. Right now I'm about 1.5 weeks post op and I've lost 15 pounds.
 
The hardest part for me so far has been trying to overcome my food addiction. Thankfully being on a liquid diet still has made it easier, but my roommate and friends eat in front of me and it's so hard.
I am looking for support and people who understand what I'm going through. My friends and family are super supportive, but they don't understand what I'm going through and experiencing.
 
I'm just looking forward to finally having an egg with a little bit of cheese and some tuna salad. I can't wait to have food in my stomach so I don't get so hungry so fast.
