What Was Your Final "straw That Broke The Camels Back"
cookies_queen replied to bigjoe102's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Good for you for doing it early good luck! -
I work in a large office I am not telling anyone what I'm doing. My reasons are. It's really none of their business I don't want the first question to be all the time "how much weight have you lost now" Or... The people who judge I don't need negativity in my life. I'm finding my support from my family. My children and significant other and this group. What are the pros and cons of this choice?

I'm excited for you. I can't wait till I have an absolute date. I bet the anticipation is insane.

The absolute earliest I can have surgery is Nov 13, however it probably won't be until Dec 2nd or 9th. I want it now I'm so ready to start this journey. What is the best advice I should have being two months out?

I'm 5"1 and I weigh 235 so I can't lose more than 16 lbs or my BMI will not be where my insurance requires it to be. I have started trying to stop drinking while I eat.. Man that's tough. I have also decided to chew more... I didn't realize how fAst I ate before. I am two weeks soda free not a tough one... I am drinking coffee everyday but I have cut back to one maybe two cups rather than like 4. Small steps right? I have stopped eating snacks that aren't fruit. Next week I'm going to start doing shakes for breakfast. I'm really excited and motivated I just hope the wait... To lose weight doesn't become my enemy.

To tell or not to tell
cookies_queen replied to cookies_queen's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It's not that I care what anyone thinks. People who know me would be shocked I didn't say anything I an open book. My weight gains and losses have been an emotional struggle not just physical. I really want to do this with our anyone in my head other than me. If that makes sense. My boys are 15&19 they know and are excited for me. My boyfriend is as well. It's not that I want to do it alone it's that I need to do this for me. I finally need to make something just about me. -
You look amazing awesome job

Men are weird, I think genia insecure. He loves you obviously just the way your are which is a good thing. He's scared you will change and not feel the same about him, or something he loves about you will get lost in this process. I'm sure he does think your sexy and beautiful the way you are. Just encourage him to join you in your journey tell him you want him to be a part of it. If he still won't stick to your guns after all it's about you and being a healthy you!

What Was Your Final "straw That Broke The Camels Back"
cookies_queen replied to bigjoe102's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Watching my mother die from cancer in April of this year. Knowing that I will die someday and my kids will have to watch it as well. So I want to live forever. I know that's not possible but I want a long healthy life. So I started this journey. Wish I would have done it sooner. -
I have come up with a reward program.. Eat the right things all week and have a cheat meal on the weekend.

Thank you everyone this just confirms my choice. -
No I completely agree. I haven't told anyone but my significant other and do not plan on telling anyone else. I just don't want everyone asking me how much weight have you lost... Ect. I'm not trying to deceive anyone it's just my business.????????

I have done the same thing in my head I think will write it down and come up with a reward program of sorts. I'm glad that I'm not the only one with this issue.
