I was wondering if anyone heard about the high protein snacks like pretzels and crackers that I have seen online? They have 12 grams of protein I'm kinda sick of shakes. Thanks

I know how you feel panic and depression. The doctor told me to stop weighting myself and I have to have my husband hide the scale. Only weight once a week and no more. -

Went to the doctor for my post op visit. I'm 10 days out. My weight was 228 which I haven't seen in years. I was 233 at the hospital the day of surgery. I gained 11 pounds in the hospital from the IVs. The doc said people usually loose more then I did which upset me because he wasn't taking in my weight gain from the hospital. I'm not gonna lie it was very upsetting. I was hoping for a good job. ???????????? -

I am having a hard time getting in calories and protein as well so I omitted breakfast and just have a premier protein. It takes me about 90 minutes to finish it. If anyone there has Trader Joe's they have some fantastic soups that are completely puréed and you don't even need to strain them. I bought a corn chowder that was fantastic it comes in a box and also a tomato roasted red pepper. -

I feel ok. Not great. Having a hard time getting fluids in and have a good amount of pain from them inflating my stomach. I gained 11 pounds in hospital from IV's which is coming off. I guess I was expecting to feel much better so I'm a little depressed. -

I had a sleeve in Feb of last year. Starting in June/July I developed really bad GERD/Reflux Its so bad I just bend over and acid comes up. I tried all the meds, repositioning of the bed, changing diet., but nothing worked. I had a tons of testing and my surgeon decided to do a bypass because that is suppose to fix it.s That makes sense. I am so sorry you have GERD so bad. I know first hand how horrible it is. Wishing you the best of luck with your bypass. You will do great. -

Sandy that would drive me nuts! I have very poor veins. When I went in for my sleeve it was at 3pm and they had the hardest time finding a vein cause I was so dehydrated, so she made sure I was on the list for first thing in the morning this time. Do you have something to keep you busy while you wait to go to the hospital? BTW what kind of nurse are you? Don't happen to work at the hospital you are getting surgery are you? I always wondered how that would be lol. =) I am a endocrinology nurse and am a certified diabetic educator. I work in a medical group now but it is part of the hospital system I am having the surgery at. I used to work in the operating room with my surgeon assisting in the bypass surgery. This was before the sleeve procedure was introduced. -

This is just what I needed. My surgery is Monday and I am so afraid of failure. This is so inspiring. Thank you all. I have lost 22 pounds so far and my dream weight would be for me to loose another 105 pounds -
what vitamins and protein sources did you love the best?
sjrn16 replied to southernbelleAU's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love pure protein and my surgeon said 2 Flintstones complete chewable vitamins daily. I bought them on Amazon very inexpensive -
This is been a decision that I have not taken lightly I have thought about it for over three years. I have finally decided that enough was enough and I have gone through the process of getting approved for the surgery I have been approved in them having my surgery February 1. I am so excited and scared at the same time I'm excited that I could have a new life That I can walk into a store and try on clothes not in the fat section. I am scared that I will fail as I have failed any other diet I ever tried. I am 53 years old and I need to lose 110 pounds. I think this site is fantastic and I look forward to giving support to others as well as receiving the support I need to succeed in this journey. I would love to hear from other people how much weight they have lost since having their gastric sleeve procedure. Thanks.
