My jouney started in 2008 when I got a Lap-Band. Things moved slowly, but eventually dropped over 140lb and stabablized between 170lb and 160lbs.
Throughout my jouney, I experienced difficulties with blockages, pain and a potruding port to name a few. However, the real scare came around June 2012 when my band splipped and I wasn't able to drink more than a few sips of water a day, and barely any food. I was in denial of how diar the situation had become, I dropped down to 124lbs in just over a month. In my mind I knew it wouldn't last as I thought,
"Yay, I'm finally thin!"
Upon visiting the surgeon, I was booked in for an emergency lap-band revision. The surgeon carved a large incision down the centre of my abdomen he can't have been paying much attention, as he stappled me together so haphazardly, it was as gory as one of those "Hostel" movie instalments. ( - Slasher horror films).
After my revision, my band never worked the same and I gianed back most of what I'd lost. Soon after my revision, the surgeon dissapeared from his practice without a trace, he didn't forward any of his files and left no referals for his patients :o... But that's another story!
I had such difficulty finding a sergeon who would take me on as a patient, all of sugeons I apporached don't want to meddle with another Dr.'s work, until I found "The One"!
Fast forward three years of waiting to get the sleeve, to my band removal in November 2015, and a sleeve Gastorectomy on 3rd August 2016.
It feels like I'm starting all over again, so here goes!
