    Any June sleevers out there?

@NewBegining2016 I'm sorry I haven't been on here in a few weeks. I returned to work and boy--did I work! I hope you found the milk. I got mine at a local grocery store, but I did see it at Wal-Mart as well! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  3. I am returning to work on 6/27--Monday. I work at a skilled nursing/retirement community. I have co-workers who have had WLS. My direct supervisor is the one who has given me grief about my surgery. She controls it all. I am worried about this same type of retaliation. I had another nurse ask me why I would have this surgery if I could lose on the pre-op diet. I explained to her I can only lose so much on my own and then I re-gain. The worst comment--"I hope you are gonna stick to this since you are going to so much trouble!" Crazy. People feel very free to comment. I paid for the surgery-and I didn't make the decision lightly. 10 years I contemplated about this life change. I'm so glad I finally made the choice. Good luck to all! 4. Sad, but I have this reaction from some co workers as well. I view it as a life saving/changing decision as well. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Any June sleevers out there?

3 weeks on tomorrow. Went for my follow up appointment today. Moved to the soft foods stage. I, too am now worried a bit about bad habits. I have been very much to the rules, so I know I just need to stick to the plan. If you haven't tried the fat free Fairlife Milk--it is so good. 13 grams of protein per serving. Really good. Hospital Stay?

I'm two weeks out today. I stayed two nights. I had severe nausea and vomiting. Pain wasn't controlled well by the meds. Normally it is a one night stay with my surgeon. I had VSG. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Any June sleevers out there?

Interesting to read other people's experience this far. I am 11 days out. I can have puréed food for the next two weeks. I have been eating baby food. I know it sounds strange--but I really like it. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    4 days post op...

@@Km77942009 I can only speak about my own experience. I am not having any hunger pains. I do feel very weak at times. Just keep up with your ounces of liquid and Protein intake and try to follow your surgeon's directions. Hope it eases soon! Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    4 days post op...

I am 10 days post op today. I had good luck with unjury chicken soup flavor. I am not a sweets fan, so this saltier liquid Protein worked well for me. It doesn't taste like broth at all to me. Tastes like soup. I also had a potato leek creamed soup that I added unflavored protein. It was filling. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  13. I just heated up broth. It is going down much easier. Thanks y'all!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  14. 3 days post op and am really having a difficult time with my intake. I feel so full. Trying to down an ounce every fifteen minutes. Beginning to wonder if I was crazy doing this surgery. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

48 hours afterwards. Was it a mistake?

I feel the same way! I am 2 days post op. I had a very hard time of it at the hospital. Had to stay another night. Pain meds made me vomit. I am trying to figure out my schedule as well! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  16. Thank you. I am still in the hospital. Finally starting to improve tonight. The pain meds made me very sick. I will be glad to be going home tomorrow. Have you had your procedure yet? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  17. I am so very scared and excited for tomorrow. Doing my clear liquid diet today, and (yucky) bowel prep. So I am sure I will have a fun afternoon. Any last minute advice for what to bring to the hospital and what to expect? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  18. I am finishing up day 10 of my 15 day pre-op diet. I have been allowed green veggies and one serving of 4 ounces of lean meat a day. I think that is pretty good. I have to have a clear liquid diet the day before my surgery (this Friday!). It has been difficult at times and easy some days as well. Day 1 and day 4 were the worst for me so far. I think I went through carb withdrawal on day 4. Today I attended a family reunion--it wasn't as bad as I had imagined. I didn't drink a shake while I was there--so I was really hungry by the time we left. I am getting nervous about this Friday. It is just pushing through and learning. Planning is key too. Be sure to have an approved item so you aren't tempted to break the rules. Good luck!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I know just how you feel--I am 6/3/16. Week one pre-op diet. Kicking my butt. I just know I have to change. We can eventually eat real food again. We just will have time to learn how to have a healthy relationship with food. At least this is how I am looking at it now. I am the same -a total foodie. I have always loved to cook and try new foods. I just got my priorities out of whack. I want be able to try new foods with my son as he grows. It is new way of thinking. Change isn't always a bad thing. I agree with the above--counseling and group therapy. Probably not a bad idea. Prayers and love for success. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  21. I am trying to decide on what type to purchase. If you have one you love, would you mind posting the brand and the benefits of this band. If it is worth it I don't mind paying a little more. Thanks guys! Surgery date of 6/3/16. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  22. I am feeling nervous and a little overwhelmed. I know I am nearing my 6/3 date for my procedure. I have watched more YouTube videos than I can count. I am usually a very "open-book" type of person, but I have received some negative responses from some of my co-workers. I was shocked by some of the comments. I know I was warned about this possibility, but I still didn't think my friends would react this way. Therefore, I am limiting my openness about having this procedure for now. I am a person who has never been rail thin. I have been of normal weight until I was in my mid-twenties. I had many medical problems at that time and rapidly gained 30lbs, then another 30, and another... Until now I am 275 lbs. I have now been obese for the last 18 years. I am tired of not being able to participate in life. I am embarrassed about my weight. I used to be the one who loved to dance and speak in front of a crowd. Now I just try to blend in--haha! Hard to do when you are the biggest person in the room. I am scared, but excited for change. I have lost at least 60 without any medical intervention at least 3 times. I cannot do better than that--old habits creep back and I give up. I am hopeful. I have many reasons to live. I feel like this will be a grieving process as well. Good-bye to the old and in with the new life. Thanks for listening. Good luck to all!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
