In Onederland For The First Time In 30 Years!

Great job! Keep up the good work! [emoji126] -
I am with you @Klaselsyd! In fact I am in the fetal position as we speak because the cramps and shooting pains from the constipation are so bad. This happens once a week when I take ducolax to try and get things moving. My doc just prescribed me a daily medication to take for the time being. We'll see how that goes! Good luck to you!

Good luck to all! Yes you will lose weight and it will be relatively fast! It is not an easy ride but it will be worth it! -
Sleeved on Monday. Gas pain is terrible!
Sunshine8946 replied to Angie1978's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh I know your pain! I had RNY on 2/22 and it felt like a heart attack at times! (Or at least what I imagine a heart attack to feel like). Keep walking! You have to let the gas out and it needs to be absorbed back into the muscle and tissue. Walking is the absolute best thing you can do and as an additional helper use the Gas-X strips. My gas lasted almost a week but got better each day. PS during this pain don't forget to drink your fluids because the last thing you want is to become constipated once you introduce protein back in. Good luck to all of you! -

4 weeks out...always nauseous
Sunshine8946 replied to Sunshine8946's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Sounds possible. Thanks James. -
Hi everyone! I am 4 weeks post-op. Going to my stage 3 class on Tuesday to begin solid food (with several stipulations) however I am always nauseous with the pureed food. It doesn't matter what it is. If I eat more than a tablespoon I am sick. Has this happened to anyone else and if so did it get better?

I'm sorry this happened but think of the weight you lost over the last two weeks! You are that much more prepared for 3/29! It will be here before you know it and this will be a memory you share with other "newbies" someday. Keep thinking about the summer and how awesome you will look and feel! Good luck!

I second your comment @rking. Thanks for the laugh Dub and your honest feedback. That is what's needed here, not this back and forth drama.

Just received my surgery date today! 2/22! Putting through insurance next week! Excited but all of a sudden nervous! Anxious about the insurance approval, the surgery itself, and life afterwards but my excitement certainly outweighs the worries. Would be great to find a few people going through it around the same time! ????

I had my surgery on 2/22 and I totally feel for you! Keep walking! It's the best way to get it to break up. Mine lasted 6 days but it does go away! Hang in there and good luck! -
i feel like you just described my exact same experience...I mean every last word you said happened to me during the swallow test! I am super hypersensitive to smell and it makes me nauseous in most cases! I hope it doesn't last forever! Good luck to you!

Post-op Day 3 - so much gas build up in chest!
Sunshine8946 posted a topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Hello All, I had surgery on Monday, 2/22. Everything went well. My only "ugh" about the whole thing is the gas build up in my abdomen, chest, shoulders, and neck. While in the hospital I did just about 10,000 steps between the day of surgery and the next day to keep the gas moving (I brought my Fitbit). Now I am home and still pacing our hallways but I cannot get comfortable. How long should I expect these gas pains to last? -
Post-op Day 3 - so much gas build up in chest!

I had one 4oz shake yesterday and did just fine. Today I will up it to four 4oz shakes. I'm hoping it will be no issue because I feel like this will breathe life into me again! Feeling so sluggish. It's been 12 days with with nothing but Water and broth (which now makes me gag). No complaints though! It will all be worth it in the end -

That is awesome that it is almost gone for you! I still have quite a bit... I am calling the doctor Monday to see if I can try Gas-X. Have you started your Protein drinks? Are you getting them down ok? -

thank you! I will try it! -
exactly what @@justright66 said! I had my surgery this past Monday 2/22, and I followed the doctors orders to a T because this surgery is a big deal and you want to go into it with the best chance. With that being said my surgery took an hour and a half, my surgeon said it was what she would call a "perfect" surgery and by prepping ahead of time the recovery would be easier. Now I won't say this first week has been a breeze at all but knowing people that have had this done...I am much better off than most. Good luck! You can do this and it will be so worth it!!! Glad it went smoothly for you! What you just described pretty much sums up my experience as well. I did walk a lot in the hospital but I am finding it more difficult today with it being my first day home. Wishing and hoping that the gas pains go away for the both of us! Good luck! -

Thanks @@Inner Surfer Girl! I will push through this... Just need to get out of my own head and realize his pain is tolerable even if it feels awful at times. The end results will be worth it! How far out are you? Any regrets?
