Nurse Nikki, I am so excited for you,are you ready? Nervous, excited? Where are you having the procedure done? I am having mine at Barix by Dr. Ramos. I finally have a set date of 3/26. I cannot wait to hear everything about the procedure when you get back. I will be thinking of you
-
Good luck with the 2lbs and congratulations on being at your half way mark
-
That i hilarious. Those mut of been some good drugs?
-
ok ajonee, you left me hanging on your previous post. what else happened? Did everything end up ok? How are you feeling?
-
you may want something for gas like the Gas x strips. I am in the same boat as you trying to get things together. Maybe yogurt
-
So far my list consist of: liquid tylenol, gas x strips, flintone chewables, heating pad,protein,broths,jello,etc..I am going to need to get things together. I am going to look into the isopure that Fenton mentioned earlier if I could get that down that would knock out the majority of my protein intake.

I am in Columbus,Ohio and having the procedure done at Barix. My banding date is 3/26 and I will start on clear liquids 3 days before the banding. I am thankful for that since I have read many entries by other people and I know they say they have to start anywhere from 3 days or 2 weeks of clear liquids I am not sure if I could handle 2 weeks of liquids pre-op. I have been doing research on different protein supplements and trying to make a list of things that I will need before and after surgery. I am trying to get everything together ahead of time since I will be staying with my parents after the procedure for a few days. I want to make sure I have everything I need.

-
thank that makes me feel better
-
Fenton, thanks for all the detailed information it is a great help for me and i am sure for others who are waiting to be banded. I am going to look into the isopure. One question I have is were you awake when they put the tube down your throat? That is my biggest fear ever!!!! I know it sound illy but it is something I fear. Also what were some on the items you took with you to the hospital? What did you use and what did you not even need?
-
I hope you get to feeling better and that it does not interfere with your procedure. Hope to hear from you after your surgery and good luck. What did they advise you to take with you to the hospital
-
yes you should probably be on some sort of protein that is going to help you not be so hungry.
-
Thanks that does help out alot. I figure the least to worry about the better. Thanks for the info
-
you will be ok. I will be thinking of you and let me know how things went

Congrat to everyone!!! My surgery date is 3/26 @ Barix in Ohio. I am so excited and happy for everyone. I know this is a step in my life to a better and healthier lifestyle. They have me on a 1500 calorie diet and gave me samples of different protein powders to try. Does anyone have a protein powder or shake that they love?? -
I am in Columbus and I am scheduled to have my procedure March 26th at Barix by Dr. Ramos. I just had my PAT today and I received a lot of information (great) the only thing I forgot to ask is what to bring with me the day of surgery. I do not want to bring a bunch of stuff I am not going to need. I also forgot to ask how long I will be off work afterwards. I put a call in for the work question but wanted to see if anyone out there can give me ideas of what was needed and not needed the day of surgery
