@@songsmith and others who've had thyroid cancer, how are the pills you have to take after thyroid removal surgery? Can it be crushed or taken in powder form? I just got diagnosed too and am still quite stunned. I am worried about the after-care as it relates to the sleeve.

In my program, they told us not to drink for a year after surgery. So I'll be able to drink on 2/15/17!

You and your new post op ass, a guide.

@@winklie Thanks so much fot this! I had my first Sahara ep yesterday and I would not wish it on anyone! I'm 8 days out and Smooth Move helped me a couple of times and I went naturally a couple of times so I didn't think to take it again. I'm off pain meds and have been able to get all my fluids in. What I went through yesterday I would not wish on anyone! I drank my yea last night and semi-volcano-ed twice today. Still more preferable to Sahara! -

There is poop and I cant poop

I bought the tea off Amazon. I've heard it's also available in stores. I will definitely order more. It's herbal/caffeine free. I may also get a bottle of Benefiber just to have it on hand. -

I've had movements w/help from Smooth Move tea and was going on my own for a couple of days. Skipped yesterday. Did the natural way this afternoon. It was awful. Never again. I'm going back to the tea. And I've been getting all my liquids in and stopped pain meds. -

@@Amelie2016 How funny! I just went to the butcher to get bones to make bone broth! He only had morrow bones and no joint bones so I bought some chicken feet too. I made broth years ago and didn't see it gel that much. I'm hoping for the best today!

What I used: Robe Chapstick Phone charger Brush Tooth brush:paste Did not use: Slippers Extra change of clothes Hospital provided: Grippy socks Heating packs Tooth brush/paste Face towel Body wash What I didn't expect is that they sent me home w/pretty much everything in my room: basin, pitcher, toiletries, pillow, and and extra stuff I wanted. I wish I had more room in my bag. Haha! -

Reasons given for requesting time off?
midorigal replied to xochtlem's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I told work surgery to take care of something. I think people do genuinely care and worry but it's no one's business. I plan to keep it that way. Hernia if pushed but legally they can't ask. Like someone else posted, there's no untelling. Best (for me) to stay mum. -
Is anyone not taking reflux meds post-VSG?
midorigal replied to kinkymoo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was prescribed Prevacid for 30 days. They asked us to take it even if we not have heartburn since it can help with stomach acid healing. I think just with everything else (pre-op/post-op diet) each surgeon is different. I plan to follow my surgeon's advice unless I had big concerns about something. -
Had op done yesterday!

I just had surgery on Monday too. The nausea did a number on me. I'm trying not to take the pain meds as much because it makes me nauseous but woke up at 3 am with pain. I seriously doubt what I did to myself at times but have to believe it'll get better too. Hang in there! -
No alcohol ever?!
midorigal replied to nervousnelly719's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My program also said a year out and to be careful w/the first drink. I think they are also scared of cross addiction. I'm not a big drinker although I do like bloody Cesar's and beer w/sushi. I'm just going to have to skip and be ok with it. A year out I may try it and see how I feel. Although I hear carbonation is forever a no no. At least in my program. -
