Hi everyone,
my name is Heather. I got the Lap-Band done in March, 2011 after being overweight for a good 15 years, hitting a high weight of 385 a year after having my son. I ended up losing about 80 lbs on the band in a year before I started having severe complications. So, in late 2013, I decided to submit for a revision to a sleeve. At the time, my insurance excluded weight loss surgery, so I kept fighting my weight with crazy diets and workouts (I did Insanity 3 times!). I moved to a different district (I teach) because of better opportunities and thought that I might be able to get my surgery covered there. Again, I was turned down. Well, I happen to be a very persistent person and two years later, I get word that I am finally approved for removal and revision. :) I just spoke with my doctor's office who said that I should be able to have the surgery within the month. How I am going to juggle the surgery and taking minimal time off, I have no idea! But I will make it work.
Right now, I weigh 335.8. I hope by this time next year to be 100 lbs lighter....or more, if that's in the cards. :) I am nervous, excited, apprehensive, but also hopeful. I'm ready to get this show on the road, and I am ready to learn from you all as I travel.
Nice to meet you all.
